| Looks like we are back to Agetarou's gigs but for some reason his usual music isn't gelling with the crowd that he's doing a gig for. How come? Well apparently it's more down to the relevancy of the tracks he's playing which in the real world makes sense because you need music in order to connect with crowds otherwise if you play the same tracks over and over again you'll lose your crowd because your not relevant anymore, if you play something that the crowd your playing to won't recognise then you risk alienating your audience that way. Which I think is a clever way to incorporate this aspect of DJing because the episode makes it look like Agetarou did something wrong when he didn't it's more down to experience which is a good way of indicating that digging through records should be a good thing if you want to have mass appeal. The episode introducing a Korean DJ playing EDM music is a good way to show what's current on the DJ scene. And while Agetarou is a little bit hesitant to play something other than the music he's been playing so far, he wisens up because he knows THAT'S the sort of music that he needs to play to a different crowd and ends up mixing an ol' childhood classic from said Korean DJ's past with a track that he normally plays. Agetarou really has come a long way in terms of his DJing and the show just gets better and better with every episode. Otherwise really good episode overall for me. |
