DEFINING TERMSSCORE CHANGE: This is the difference in score between any number of weeks. It could be two weeks consecutively following each other, the difference between the ending score and starting score for a show's entire airtime or the score between the last 3 weeks as we do in our score change table below. The aforementioned table does not include the last score change due to an ending boost, further explained in the final score change section.

MSP SCORE: Our custom stat, MSP Score, seeks to define how many times a shows has either risen or fallen. It gets a +1 for every week it rises, 0 for every week it stagnates and a -1 for every week it falls. The percentage (%) is simply this score and the number of possible score change weeks it has i.e everything after its first airing episode week.

MAL SCORE: This is the average score of an anime taken from the scores of all users who have rated it on MyAnimeList, this is sourced from the main page of every anime. The basis of our club all stems from recording this stat and noting how it changes over time, from it we derive all our insights.

BEST WEEKLY SCORE CHANGE: This is a table that tracks the highest score changes from all airing anime of a season each week.

FINAL EPISODE SCORE CHANGE: This is the last score change an anime records during its airtime. We track this as once a show goes from airing to completed, the scores of users who have not watched a certain amount is removed from the calculation which usually gives a show a significant ending boost.

Week 05 Update Complete.

My Hero Academia after heating up quite a bit in recent weeks surprisingly stagnates, losing its perfect MSP and gives Kingdom a big advantage in the MAL score battle. Kingdom duly takes advantage with another decent boost bringing it on the cusp of that coveted 9 MAL score with big room between it and everyone else, both are able to hold on to their places on the 3-week Score Change table though. Kingdom aside, our only other perfect MSP shows are now Gnosia and Potion, both advance well again, with the latter more impressive, taking the anime of the week award and rising to 2nd on score change.

One Punch Man 3 now officially tumbles into the 5s in MAL score, it comfortably has the worst score change of the entire season as well as the 3rd worst MAL score, gone are the days of the mid 8 score of its first season, where did it all go wrong? Let's play records 3 consecutive rises in a row and sees a major advance in the score change table. This season still has a lack of heavy hitting non-sequels with the highest MAL score still being Toujima Tanzaburou's 7.71, so the sequels are basically carrying the season.

This week on charts, it's a bubble chart of the season so far, pitting total score change against msp score with mal ratings the size of the bubble. Despite it's stagnation, My Hero Academia is still looking like the show not to be missed.

Week 04 Update Complete.

Rare to find shows in a season with an extremely good score change, MAL score and perfect MSP, but that is so far the case for both Kingdom and MHA. Both advance strongly again, understandably slowing but with more than enough wiggle room for subsequent weeks, both retain their perfect starts with Kingdom now close to a 9 and MHA's score change enviable. Uma Cinderalla unlike its spotless previous season loses its perfect MSP already with a stagnation, as does Touring and Spy x Family with drops. Ao no Orchestra also surprisingly stagnates after its very fast start. There were also back to back rises for Alma-chan, Gnosia and Isekai Quartet. Gachiakuta is experiencing its best run of form since it started airing last season with 4 rises in a row. MHA retains the Anime of the week award.

Week 03 Update Complete.

My Hero Academia isn't messing about as it posts the biggest rise we've seen from any show so far this season, last week i mentioned Kingdom being way ahead of everyone else in MAL score, not the case anymore. Despite that though, Kingdom does advance forward but with not as much wiggle room as before. While MHA was having season record rises, unfortunately One Punch Man 3 was having season record drops, a massive downturn sees its already poor MAL score go even lower to the mid 6s, hopefully that's the floor for it, doesn't seem like it though. Ao no Orchestra follows up last week's big rise with another sizeable one, but unfortunately its back to back drops for Ginpachi-sensei. Several shows follow up last week's rise to make it back to back starts including the likes of Spy x Family and Uma Musume amongst others. Very good starting score changes from Isekai Quartet and Gnosia.

Week 01 & 02 Updated.

As usual a somewhat chaotic start to a season with so much happening. Ginpachi-sensei starts strong with an above 8 start but does take a hit on its first score change. Ao no Orchestra does the opposite, a somewhat mediocre below 7 starting score is followed by a massive rise that powers it into the low 7s, its also enough to earn it the anime of the week award. My Hero Academia expectedly starts strong and rises on its first attempt. As does Kingdom 6 which starts very strong with an above mid 8 score and follows it up with a massive rise that sees it knocking on the doors of 9.0 in MAL score, comfortably the highest MAL score of the season so far. Unfortunately it's a mediocre start for the One Punch Man 3, well below even a 7. Spy x Family and Uma Musume also continue where they left off with positive starts.

There is a lack of a non-sequel show in the new season with an above 8 MAL score which is surprising, however the likes of Saigo Hitotsu, Tondemo Skill and Toujima Tanzaburou all have high 7s and there's still a long way to go.

Week 13 Summer 24 and Week 00 Fall 24 Updated.

Hanako-kun was our only perfect MSP score show but unfortunately suffers its first drop at the last hurdle. It's a similar story for Dandadan, although not perfect but it avoided falling throughout its airtime before this but fell at the end. City the Animation and Ruri no Houseki finish above an 8 in MAL score. Kaoru Hana does claim the MSP score crown despite the competition by pulling away at the end.

Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi is the only show to air on Week 0, starts just below a 7.

Week 08-11 Updated.

Updates have been happening on schedule for the keenly eyed, there was just no comment on the wall.

A handful of shows have had a perfect 2nd half of the season, rising every week so far from week 6, they are Dekin no Mogura, Necronomico, Ruri no Houseki, Sakamoto 2 and of course our only perfect show for the whole season so far, Hanako-kun. Dr Stone has also had an exciting couple of weeks as a signicant 3 week rising streak sees it rise to 2nd in score change and bag back to back anime of the week awards as well. Our top 2 for MAL score, Kaoru Hana and Grand Blue, are now neck and neck in that regard, but Dandadan that is a little bit behind them is still not out of the running as a significant final score boost could see it supercede, one to watch. Speaking of Dandadan it continues to be spotless, yet to fall, as is Ruri and Mikadono Sanshimai.

The Scatter chart is back for the final time this season, our last one was at Week 5 and its interesting to see the movements certain shows have experienced in that time (both charts are at the bottom of the seasonal thread). For this latest one Food Court is clearly ahead on Score +/- with a modest MSP while Hanako-kun has a perfect MSP score and good score change. There are also decent shouts for Sakamoto, Dandadan, Zutaboro, Ruri, Mikadono, Silent Witch, Kizu Seijo and Yofukashi no Uta who have all had great seasons.

Week 07 Updated.

This week saw a gigantic increase from Kizu Seijo, impressive as its more akin to a final episode boost but this took place mid season. It powers it all the way to the top of Score change and easily takes Anime of the week award. Mikadono Sanshimai loses its perfect MSP score so we're down to just the two shows now, Silent Witch and Jibaku Shounen, which are holding firm for now. The likes of City, Dandadan2 and Ruri Houseki are consistentlly now pouring out positive weeks between them, the latter two are actually yet to fall this season. Our Top 2 MAL score shows saw Kaoru Hana finally stop the rot but Grand Blue has not, Dandadan is still a ways off but not impossible for it to catch up before the season ends.

Week 06 Update Complete.

An early conclusion as Food Court completes its half cour runtime and bags a massive ending boost to count, it also retains the top spot on score change for now (ending boost not included). It's now back to back rises for City the Animation after a bumpy start and climbs to the top 5 of score change. Dandadan goes one better with 3 rises in a row and is still yet to drop this season, highly uncharacteristic for a sequel, but a welcome one. Our 3 perfect shows continue to hold firmly with Silent Witch crossing the 8 mark for MAL sccore and Mikadono Sanshimai taking the AOTW award for the 2nd time in 3 weeks.

In charts let's compare Dandadan's 1st and 2nd seasons, as i mentioned the 2nd season is very uncharacteristic as it starts with a lower MAL score than its prequel but it showcases consistency in place of the flamboyance.
