Hazurewaku no "Joutai Ijou Skill" de Saikyou ni Natta Ore ga Subete wo Juurin suru made

When loner Touka Mimori is summoned to another world alongside his classmates, he obtains the power to inflict status ailments, such as paralysis or poison, on his enemies. Unfortunately for him, skills of this nature are considered useless due to their low success rate, and Touka is thus assigned the title of E-rank hero. Things take a further turn for the worse when Vicius, the goddess who summoned the class, reveals that the lowest-ranked hero will be disposed of so that they do not hinder those with greater talent.

Banished to a notoriously dangerous area, Touka comes face-to-face with death after being cornered by a minotaur-like creature. In a desperate attempt to survive, he uses his supposedly worthless skill—only to quickly realize that it works almost every time. Armed with the ability to render the monsters standing in his way completely helpless, Touka resolves to track down the goddess that tossed him aside and exact his revenge.

I love this anime.

I love isekais where the MC is smart and makes sensible decisions with a clear ambitious goal in mind, and you know he's going to reach it because of his undying resolve.

If you are not going to like this, it' going to be because of animation or maybe you just hate isekais that are serious, then I suggest you go watch "that time I reincarnated into a vending machine".

Seriously, how do you not like this? How can you call this trash isekai? Personally, I would call trash all the mainstream high rated bullshit. Honestly, just sort animes from lowest evaluation ... first, because people on this site vote after watching 1 episode and deciding "this is not cool, I didn't see a naked underage girl in the first 10 minutes of the show, 3/10”.

Mixed Feelings

So, like everyone who saw this absurdly long title, I expected the worst. But from the very first episodes, I was pleasantly surprised.

First of all, the animation isn't bad at all, quite the opposite, it's pleasantly smooth. Sure, there's a lot of CGI, but if that's the compromise for good animation, I'm more than fine with it.

Then, there's the plot. The basic idea, a revenge story in an isekai setting, is nothing new. In fact, here it's applied with a terrible level of banality. But the idea that the protagonist fights only using status effect spells is something I really like. It forces him to ... think carefully about how to get within range to use his spells. Aside from that, after a somewhat dull start, the plot flows quite smoothly. Yes, it falls into an infinite number of clichés and stereotypes typical of fantasy isekai, but at least each episode leaves you curious enough to want to see the next one.

Now, let's talk about the character design, it's awful, really terrible. The characters, both in appearance and personality, seem like they came straight out of a 'How to Make a Generic Fantasy Isekai' manual. They are as bland as they come. The only redeeming quality is the consistency. Rarely do characters act outside of their established traits, and this even applies to the protagonist, which I appreciated.

So, if you're a 'shit-taster' fan of fantasy isekai or if you enjoyed Arifureta, this anime will be perfect for those times when you don't know what to watch and just want to kill time. Don't expect a masterpiece, but it's not an unwatchable disaster either.

Failure Frame
The Name says everything!
Animation
The animation quality is appalling to say the least. The close up during conversation is not bad, but as soon as there is the slightest pan-out occurs the quality goes down the drain and it looks like a low quality Final Fantasy animation style. Along with bulky unrefined movement from all characters and living beings the art style is also completely different.

Story
The anime lacks content. This was set-up to have the possibility to be a top ranked revenge anime, but fell short. The premise that the anime has set on is lacking depth. It is a straight line from ... beginning to the middle and stops. There is a second season needed to be able to complete the anime, but the first season lacked character building and needs to adjust the power scaling system. Why is an OP skill given as an E-Class skill is nonsensical. The side characters show little growth with each having 1 small realization and then that's the end of the character building

Overall
The anime was given a 4/10 due to the above reasons along with another few underlying reasons not mentions. With the anime market being flooded with a load of Isekai that has no unique story you need to do it right or different and Failure Frame did none. Unless the second season takes a 180 turn or the first season is remade, I would not suggest this anime
