An interesting spin on SAO's formula (but they can return to the real world) that actually requires the characters to think for once. The hate train on the main guy gets very grating after a while, not that his attitude helps him anyway.

It's a harem anime, the girls all know each other, fall in love with him in turn and are all ok with sharing him by the end. It's kind of cute, nothing of substance though.

Surprisingly funny and cute. Not as coherent or character focused as Retsuko, but manages good gags and a more cartoonish take on "The Office".

The cutesy "Hello Kitty" art clashes very well with the existential dread of mid twenties life. Actually a brilliant take on the crushing life of office work. The voice work and mouth movement is bizarrely poorly timed, but this gets fixed in later installments.

More Aggretsuko, snappier plot and jokes. That weird syncing issue with the voices have been fixed. The "will they won't they" subplot feels out of place and unhelpful to the story.

More Aggretsuko. Expansion of plots and interesting things to try feels natural, though we may start running out of ideas soon. While it's literally the point of the plot for Retsuko to feel stuck and not make progress, that shouldn't translate to the overall story itself, which is starting to bleed its way in.

It's more day in the life of Retsuko. If the initial premise bores you, this will bore you too.

A lesser "Villainess" that practically drowns itself with her and the demon lord's "love" dynamic. Some okay ideas, and the characters and writing mostly work, but if you've seen enough after episode 4, it doesn't get better.

Bare breasts every five minutes. A somewhat interesting premise.

The insane premise and chemistry of the characters along with the ecchi makes this a make or break show. If that's not why you are here, there are shows that do it far better than this.

I hate to say it, but it feels like they had a really good idea and whiffed it. Some great concepts and emotions get explored, but the writing feels obtuse almost on purpose. Their attitudes and the supposed "horrible pain" they suffer do not fit together at all. Despite everything, the ending is one of the most bitter-sweet cries you'll ever have.

It's a great watch. Nagisa and Karma are a joy to see grow and mature every time. The fun, excitement, and drama all melt together wonderfully.

A romp in fine style. The near ending is wonky (shoe-horned in drama since they needed to slow the story down), but the ending is pretty solid.

A fun story with a well trodden plot done right. The main character is a joy to watch too. His brother could use a pick-me-up. Drama in the middle lasts just a tad too long.

A fun romp. Kind of rehashes the dramatic highlights of the show. The plot is a bit weird and takes a back seat at odd times.

A fun nice addition to the story. Mostly fleshes out the main cast characters. If you really enjoyed the original, this will be a fine addition.

Admittedly, the show absolutely lies to you (hyper violence in the beginning then never see it again), but the action and ideas weave together nicely. If you can tolerate his hypocritical (and often dumb edgy-ness) then the rest works well.

He softens (a bit too much), the cast balloons too much, and it feels the secrets are revealed way too fast. Behind it all though is more of season 1.

A riot all the way through. She is a wonderful protagonist and the innuendo works remarkably well. Her sharing her weird plans with her friends are probably the best parts of the show. Unfortunately suffers the same fate as every other "doesn't go all the way" plot.

Cool, stylish, and wacky, all making for an interesting different experience. Creates a premise and raises many fascinating issues to chew on and think through. While the show tries very hard to relate the arguments to real people in the real world, a lot of them feel a bit too trapped in the premise and just wouldn't exist in reality.

A fun generic shonen. The first few episodes did put off a lot of people, but if you love shonen, the rest will deliver nicely. The filler is very boring unfortunately.

First three seasons are a must, very well done. Unfortunately this more than any other suffers from bloated filler. If you like the show, but only want the highlights, you'll need a guide to get through it. Many phenomenal fights befitting any beloved major shonen, and the main villain has that perfect punchable face being Mr. Better-than-everyone-else. Ichigo's character development jumps between non-existent and overcoming a character flaw he doesn't have. Even worse, his personality gets sanded down pretty badly as the show progresses (becoming more morose and unhumorous).

If you love Bleach and need more then watch, else don't bother. The story is meh, and nothing exciting happens. Probably the weakest of the four movies.

If you love Bleach, watch it. This is mostly some interesting world building, but ultimately only adds to Hitsugaya's character. A shame that's all it does.

A fun pseudo rehash of season 2 with different plot points. It doesn't accomplish much else, just a nice little story.

This is a fun one. If the concept and plot sound interesting, it will probably carry you through the movie. If you are bored after the first 15 minutes, the rest of the movie will be a slog. Always felt like the actual ending to Bleach, not sure why.

Wacky adventure with a wacky concept. The paper thin plot doesn't really stand on it's own, but thankfully the person who directed it changed accordingly. Seems to be introducing a lot of concepts that will never be explained further.

Unnecessary add on. Starts a completely new story idea like it's trying to kick start a season 2. It honestly isn't worth it.

Great concept, great story. Everyone hated and complained about the unsatisfying ending, but I found it perfectly functional. Don't expect any grand twists to blow your mind though.

The idea is fascinating and the show has a lot to say about bigger implications of it's hypothetical. The concept does take a weirdly long time to sink in though.

TOURNAMENT ARC. Engaging and fun the whole way through, Bakugo finally gets some decent development.

The build up to the final battle is done in fine style. Probably an instant classic scene in the history of anime, and the emotional payoff sticks the landing. Also smartly handles defeating the "big bad" while simultaneously opening the door to numerous new plot lines.

Fun to watch (and more screen time for your favorite characters) but ultimately adds nothing to the universe as a whole. Time is spent developing characters while the plot sits there and rots. If you've seen a "hostage tower under siege" story, there is nothing new here.

A smart setting with superb character development for Midoria and Bakugo. A damn shame they hit a giant reset button right at the end because movie. The final fight is beautiful. At least we got confirmation for One for All on a longtime fan complaint.

The story makes sense in the grand story arc of Naruto, and Boruto is just sort of there. I have high hopes that they figure out what character argument Boruto has. He definitely has one, but it's a bit too simple and it doesn't quite gel with the rest of the story. In the mean time, he will continue to be kind of a boring kid. The show does it better.

Funny and cute, definitely needed to see more of Himawari's combat skills.

A shockingly sweet story with genuine emotion. While the obvious is present and pointed out, the story does a decent job focusing on the adult in the pig helping and leading the scared girl on her pilgrimage to the "promised land". And it actually delivered on getting to said land. Some tonal whiplash at the end with a weirdly depressing resolution (not to mention some annoying sequel bait in the credits).

The most scientifically distilled shounen I've ever seen. Everything about it works, and it's lean in it's story. If you are hungry for more Jujutsu Kaisen, then this is the show for you. While humorous that Denji has such a simplistic dumb goal to fight for, it does lose it's shtick pretty fast.

No stakes, no growth, no plot. If you want static feel good "everything is always perfect" with mild shenanigans, then this show is for you. This show is basically a Saturday morning cartoon with poorly done innuendo.

Everything about this show fails miserably. The concept, the characters, even the argument. Don't waste your time.

Another playful stab at bringing the 21st century to the high middle ages with mixed results. The first 4 episodes about the economy are excellent, the rest loses focus and runs back to the big war by season's end trope. Making "the greatest politician" the lead sounds good on paper, but his character talks and acts like an alien. His final speech is simplistic and odd.

Masterful character writing, even if Lelouch is kind of stupid at some points. Every piece of the show, characters, argument, and plot melts together into a near perfect stew of philosophical goodness. You kind of have to re-watch it to catch all the details and understand the core argument. The show gets pretty depressing in the middle, and the near end is an excellent cliffhanger.

The beginning stumbles a bit, but the show finds it's feet pretty fast. The grand return is outstanding entertainment. The near ending, while not amazing does give a mostly satisfying wrap up. The ending itself is a good tight rope walk of grand philosophical disputes and monologue-ing to an almost confusing ending. So long as you follow along the ending makes just enough sense to hit the emotional climax of the series. Probably one of the greatest endings in all of anime.

A neat idea done in a slick way. It feels like a large amount of time was spent on how the world looked and felt without filling in basic mechanics of the society. The action and buddy cop plot just about covers it's shortcomings.

Absolute wasted effort. Creations like this should be shunned from use. You don't need a mid season recap clip show when we just saw everything during the last 6 weeks.

I concede the masses raving about how much of a masterpiece this show is. I wasn't enthralled, but I understand why everyone says this show is perfect. I just didn't connect to it.

A cool mix of ideas for antagonists and character traits. The two different forces stay apart most of the time apart from one scene/fight unfortunately. Very little is actually explained, so here's hoping future seasons deep dive into the interesting parts.

An excellent example of a game made into a show done right. The characters and style follow the feeling and look of the game faithfully, and you don't even need to know the game to enjoy this. That said, the game is very silly and ridiculous. Normally a death sentence for any death game trying to take itself seriously, but Danganrompa just barely manages to walk that fine line. If you don't like the game, you will definitely not like this.

It's an isekai with no good plot argument, not to mention pretty slow. Only watch if you really love isekai.

It's Death Note, if you have heard of it, you know there's something great to it. While the second part (episode 25 onward) does not live up the first part, it is not as bad as everyone claims. I will say Near definitely cheated at the end. It's great, it's a classic, just watch it.

There is such a thing as leaving too much mystery and interpretation to the audience. Death Parade has a lot of excellent style and philosophical matches between games, but ultimately explains very little on what it is trying to get across. If the ending made any sense, I sure missed it. If you are at all interested in this concept, you'll have to read the manga to get further.

It's beloved childhood TV, if you didn't grow up watching it, this is probably one of the weaker Digimon series. I will say though, the one season that tries to not be Pokemon is the best one to me. The power escalation gets pretty wonky near the end, not to mention the digital world never technically gets fixed, so there's that.

It's ok, seasonal boredom kicker. Nothing special about it, not amazingly fun, it's average.

An excellent plot and motivation to start with, loses a lot of gas by the end. A strange case of the more the audience gets what it wants, the less interesting the story gets (as he regains his body the show's momentum slows down). The last 4-6 episodes are a bit of a let down. The final fight is forgettable.

Cute and simple, the argument gets bogged down and left behind in favor of "cat does cute cat thing and owner tries to deal with it". Nothing ground breaking.

One of the best examples of how isekais should be done, and it isn't even technically an isekai. The core idea of why isekais are fantasies for people like me is being transplanted to an alien environment allows your basic knowledge to become a superpower. Our knowledge of the 21st century looks like magic to someone from the 11th which is usually when a lot of these take place. The scientific process and explanations are some of the best I've seen in television. The villain's argument is laughably flimsy.

More Dr. Stone just a little slower. Here's hoping the cast doesn't grow any bigger.

Say whatever you need to to keep the Dragon Ball canon intact (ha ha), I enjoyed the plot line of GT. Kid Goku was pretty fun to watch and Pan makes a decent main character. But since there is no plot argument to speak of, the execution of the show is pretty dumb. Desperate for more Dragon Ball? Go for it.

The escalation makes decent sense until the end. Multiverses and time travel are always fun when done right (They almost get it). Ending fight was confusing and ended pretty poorly, no idea where the show could possibly go from here, but rest assured that no one other than Beerus gets character development.

The entire movie is the fight, which is what people wanted so it achieved what it set out to do. Broly's character and the trigger to his anger are much better done here than in the old one. Just a big ol' fight with spectacle and loud noises, nothing more. Oddly enough, less dialogue and the way the fight progresses better explains what Broly's power actually is. In case you were wondering why Frieza is alive, watch the end of Dragon Ball Super.

It's Dragon Ball Z, the most famous anime of all time. The show actually isn't that good, but the settings and initial moral dilemmas Goku is put it makes the first half really fun and interesting. The villains are always fun to watch, except Buu, and it's a classic. Watch Dragon Ball Z Kai and you'll be fine.

Unless you are a die hard Dragon Ball Z fan, there is zero reason to watch this.

It's hard to say, both the movie and the retread in Dragon Ball Super both offer interesting character moments and neat fights, both have their drawbacks. If you aren't interested in Dragon Ball Super at all, this is a fine substitute.

Frieza is always fun to watch and there are some fascinating implications to the fake end that are never explored again, but at least the idea was there. The closest Goku has ever gotten to character development. Same idea behind Battle of Gods, but the movie probably wins out over the arc in the show.

A fascinating isekai with an acceptable protagonist (his two isekai buds are more fun) and a good premise. The history aspect is fun too.

Continuation of the plot, it's good.

Sexy, stylish, and probably the best "go to the gym" ad I've ever seen. Some interesting infotainment with a very small very silly story.

Cute and fun, Hestia is a surprising support that you just don't really see anymore. Plot is kind of strange, but the characters and basic goal holds it together.

This is not the same show. The change in direction from season one will give you whiplash. If this is the plot that continues into further seasons, I don't see this show lasting long. Too many characters I struggled to care about, too many tangent plot lines that bore you to death.

A fascinating setting with a neat connection to super powers and the destruction they are fighting against. They are trying so hard to push the "demon inside" trope, but the main character's personality just doesn't fit with it. The world design and general mood among the cast makes for a believably depressing place to live.

It's ridiculed to death, but honestly once you get the plot and latch onto the personalities, the show holds magical fights with the other shounen giants. Character development is a slow crawl, but the show seems laser focused on developing the technical protagonist anyway.

It continues the story, literally everything is the same as part 1.

Fun, considering I remember almost nothing about this shows that it doesn't stick with you.

Decent idea. The argument is the same as the show just more focused and rushed to fit the movie format. Watch it for Lucy, else skip.

While the ending of course deviates from the source, what the writers came up with was still an interesting idea. If you really love the universe and characters from the series, this is a nice "alternate reality" of FMA.

It's really good. It's not perfect. Once you know the plot and story arc, there is little reason to rewatch the beginning, so in the show's intelligence to keep the plot focused and moving, they left the first good chunk redundant. Still great, watch it.

Another massive lie of extreme shock value in the first 5 minutes then never again. I do however really enjoy his character and chivalrous nature while he's role-playing. I don't care for his inner monologue though.

A good concept that almost never gets explored in isekai, what does the rest of the world's governments do with the information. Unfortunately that is the least interesting part of the show. The rest is done exceptionally well. Initial reactions to technology and the Japanese always is a joy to rewatch.

It's more GATE. More focused on the good, but the good is just less exciting. The ending is a bit confused and boring, but it is a good second season.

The comedy from the absurdity of the concept carries it. If you don't like the same joke in slight variation multiple times, then you'll struggle with this. The writing is however smart, and there is heart underneath the odd presentation.

A riot all the way through. Watching Mao take to his task like a man possessed will never get boring. One of the best ideas, before they rolled it back was Mao and Emi still being enemies and fighting, but being as powerful as a couple of 18 year olds. Many comedic ideas to explore, and the show explores them pretty well.

Excellent edu-tainment about the human body. Red and white blood cell have very nice chemistry. There is a lot more material for a season 2 they can do with the world's most unhealthy person.

Just a fun little extra about the common cold.

One of the greatest ideas ever thought of done extremely poorly. It is funny at times, but it's always mostly "I know about this from history, yeah I guess that would be pretty funny" without being funny. This works far better as a comic strip.

An ok idea. The way they solved the crisis and ended the story was pretty stupid. If you love Hetalia, watch it, then never watch it again.

Nearly every aspect of this show shouldn't work, yet it all clicks together perfectly. It all comes down to how the show can so effortlessly switch from dumb silly to emotionally serious. Additionally the show doesn't really take itself that seriously and the fan service and Issei's insane libido actually are part of the plot. It really is "plot" but with actual plot.

Still the good goofy Highschool DxD, but it feels tired and running out of places to logically go. Still fine, but the weird switch some of the characters do (Koneko) just don't sit right.

Continuing the plot. It's expanding the world in a logical way and dealing with the fallout of the end of the prior season. This is how you continue a story. Not quite as snappy in terms of gags and cheesy seriousness, but Issei's "incident" is emotionally gut wrenching and it feels like a real consequence. Ending is strange.

Small addition to the end of season 4. It does the job, though it doesn't feel necessary.

It's still Highschool DxD, and there certainly seems to be plot, but the strange feeling that none of this matters and we're just wasting time loitering away from the story never goes away. Even the blatant fanservice and Issei's libido feels lifeless and toned down like he's depressed or something. Maybe that's what the writers were going for?

Several great gags and most of the characters are a joy to see get better mentally, but after the initial two episodes, it completely devolves into a slice of life (which is not what this was supposed to be). Fights are ok, but everything is undercut apart from the emotional punches, so the delivery feels odd. It is pretty funny though.

This right here is what every isekai should strive for. Using knowledge of the 21st century to change the world around you and the world reacting back. Her inventions and pace of the plot mostly work, and there are some decent dramatic moments. Some elements do feel unnecessary for dramatic tension, but every piece does have a second use for the plot at least.

More of the same goodness. My only complaint is how much the plot focus changed based on where she is (a lot of it taking place inside the church). Mostly unavoidable due to the show trying to be realistic in not having a 7-year-old girl the ability to wander around and interact with adults with impunity. Therein lies the difficulty of making your main character a child being controlled by adults.

While the elements of the show are still present, they slow down quite a bit. The plot refocuses on her more long-term stay in the church and what the future might look like. While the ending is different and interesting, it feels a bit meh.

Actually quite fun and interesting. The story is following two investigators doing a background check on Mine before the plot of season 2 starts. A fun look behind the scenes at what a side character would see during the events of the first season.

It's a fantastic story, plot argument, character development, fights, all of it. The beginning is pretty slow and people complain about it being non engaging, but if you get through the first arc (about 25 episodes) the rest of the show is a never ending train of action, emotion and payoff. It really is a fantastic well thought out show.

A fun addition, though it really backpedals Gon's and Killua's character development and relationshi., The plot is pretty tame and not exciting. It's decent.

Weirdly the opposite problem from the last movie. The action, pace and interest is done extremely well. The character development feels real, but ultimately goes nowhere. An ok idea going the "ancient additional aspect of power system that isn't taught because it's bad" even if it's not that interesting.

Isekai done "right" in the laziest bad way possible. The idea is to use knowledge of the future to engage the plot in fun ways, not wave a magic wand and make problems go away. Even with 2000 years of warfare study on his phone, it is too much to believe that he would win every battle that easily. Him saying "I'm just cheating" really feels like an insult to the audience instead of an excuse in the show.

Discount Blue Exorcist, almost literally. If you are really dying for another story of "Satan's son turning good" then go for it. There is really no other reason to see it.

Not what is advertised. The plot summary practically lies to you with it's seriousness. The main character supposedly changes from "privileged kid" to "kid who understands those suffering in war torn areas". Instead we get Mr. Positive who doesn't have to try very hard to move the plot forward. It feels as though this was toned way down for younger audiences. His torture scene lasts all of 5 minutes, and he acts like he was just refused cookies for dessert.

Why is the setting inside a video game? I see no reason other than cashing in on the current trope. No consequences, the villain's plot makes no sense. The characters just dick around with nonsense until the villain plot kicks off in the last two episodes. Every aspect of this is about as bland as you can get.

It's a classic, the acting is kind of stupid. The time travel and adventure aspect make this almost a proto isekai, but since Kagome can return home whenever she wants it shortcuts the more annoying aspect of modern isekai. It really is a joy to watch, and Seshomaru is just always a joy to watch sulk.

I'm sure there's an unfortunate reason why this was split apart, though I'm about 20 years too late to see it. It finishes the story, happily ever after, blah blah. It feels rushed, and going by the formatting, it probably was. Seshomaru was basically the only character that deserved his happy ending.

Good Lord this was a train wreck, which is sad to see. The plot clearly is trying to say something with gravitas and emotion, but all of it comes off as inconsequential and laughable. A great idea wasted. Quality of CGI: subterranean.

Discount Restaurant to Another World. It's hard to tell why this fails the way it does since nearly every aspect of the show is a carbon copy of Restaurant. Boring restaurant workers, boring plots, boring ending. Sadly the most engaging arc (the illegal lager) fell short of Restaurant's slowest episode. This show does look to be made for a different purpose though with the ends showing the audience how to make the food shown in episode, so I may be looking at this wrong.

This show knows exactly what it is and loves to rub it in the audience's face every chance it gets. It knows the plot is dumb and the setting trashy, but Demon Lord knows exactly how to have fun with it's premise and romps along in fine style. The final battle is by far the worst part of the season. Diablo's role playing does get grating a lot of the time.

A lot of the "winking at the camera" and reveling in it's stupidity is sadly absent from this season. The show, even the characters themselves feel tired and put out, as if they were contractually obligated to do a season 2 despite them not wanting to do it.

Don't be fooled by episode 1, it is the same poorly done isekai harem plot like the others. The show actually gives you double whiplash at the beginning and the end. The final episode basically speed runs the other 5 girls, so even the harem part some people like gets mangled in this poorly paced waste of time.

Exceptionally stupid plot (on purpose) for a tasteful amount of fanservice for these shows. What really makes this mix annoying is the very obvious implications of these four meeting and very little is actually done with it (Ainz seeing Subaru's curse, them learning they are from Japan, etc). They hamstring the fanservice for no real reason.

A few okay ideas, a few okay executions. Pretty boring wrap up end of season fight, and unsatisfying conclusion. I'm more bothered by the villain having a legitimate reason to be sad and angry and the main character doesn't really get to hear it or reflect on how things turned out the way they did. Setsu is a pretty poorly written character in the bad isekai pantheon.

The junkiest isekai junk food of them all. The beginning shows some interesting ideas for his smartphone, but it slowly gets replaced with his magic (duh). The high medieval magic setting probably sounded good on paper, but undercuts it in practice. This show would have done a lot better in a simple historical setting. Despite everything, the show is very relaxing and gives you just enough phone usage to not feel cheated by the title.

A better cleaner example of what an isekai should be. The industry moves at the speed of continental drift, but at least it appears to be in the right direction. The most unbelievable part of the show is him getting the queen and nobles to believe germ theory in the span on a week. They put a lot into showing he can create and destroy matter and do basically nothing with it.

The show knows exactly what it is and it does it perfectly. Every question you've ever had on the naughty subject gets answered by the sleaziest most down to Earth guys in anime. The corruption of Crim the "fallen" Angel was a morbidly satisfying touch. This show would be perfect in a sitcom format, but anime doesn't work like that sadly.

The idea behind this show is actually pretty ingenious, and the comedy is solid, unfortunately the rest of the show is left on the planning table. The first big in game event is way too good for what the quality the rest of the show falls to. Best dynamic is seeing a dumb protagonist accidentally doing something smart and her adversaries (the programmers) being just as stupid trying to control her abilities.

An extremely annoying split between an interesting plot and powers mired by an annoying protagonist, and 30 second joke that turns into a core piece of the story. His superhero outfit to appease his sister was extremely unwelcome, and borderline ruined every other plot point around it. I honestly cannot express how awful the insertion of his superhero suit and superhero acting is. His fight with the queen though was absolutely superb.

Jojo achieves something I don't think any other show has: present you with a tone and direction for the plot, then drastically change it every era. I was actually dreading getting to the end of the Victorian vampire story because I knew the next part was going to be completely different, but somehow the show knew exactly how long to wring out the setting before it got stale (plus or minus two episodes).

I'm shocked no one has done this in anime format. An Indiana Jones style around the world story practically writes itself. Bonus points (and one of my soft spots) is seeing old protagonists past their prime helping the new protagonists. Old Joseph is top of the list for best Jojo characters. When people talk about Jojo's bizarre adventure, this is the one they are usually thinking of.

The pacing gets a bit knocked off kilter, and you can feel some instances where plot points are being invented to lengthen or shorten the journey, but this second half finishes the big fight satisfyingly. Some explanations to the stands make sense, but you really have to pay attention and twist the rules. Some plot instances get pretty repetitive.

Yet another wildly different setting shift and it works just fine. It takes a surprisingly long time for Kira to be introduced, so the first half may feel pretty slow if you are waiting for him. An interesting tidbit here is how the maturity changes through the generations from Jonathan to Joseph to Jotaro to Josuke. Josuke is the first Jojo that actually acts his age. Not sure if the defeat of Kira is inventively subversive or lazily anticlimactic.

I'm not against this taking place two years later, but it feels like too little of a jump based on prior parts. We understand Giorno's origin (mostly) but nothing else is seen or explored with him. He almost feels like a blank slate and mostly just reacts to the much more colorful cast he is with. The ending goes completely off the tracks, though it makes for probably the most satisfying villain defeats in anime.

Against all odds, the writers take a concept that would get boring in two episodes and spins it just enough to get development and a story out of it. The narrator alone is reason enough to watch. They do put a lot of character weight on Kaguya so poor Shirogone barely changes.

Very light sustenance plot wise, but still broadly follows the "good" isekai formula. A bit too slice of life, but there's enough here to carry. The main idea for the plot is interesting and easily lends itself to expansion and experimentation. Severely disappointed every time they returned to the girl who liked the protagonist. The ending is so unnaturally bad it feels artificial.

Extremely disappointing continuation. The one strength the first season had is almost entirely absent here (he creates 2 or 3 new things). Plot is focused almost entirely on everything bad or uninteresting from the first season. Arguably not worth watching.

So close. It starts perfectly doing isekai the correct way, then devolves into the same war at season's end trope. It's like they know using the protagonist's knowledge of 21st century is a crowd pleaser, but tries to get away from it every chance they get. The show would have been perfect had they just done the first 4 episodes three times. Shin is a special kind of boring.

How weird it feels to see basically the same show multiple times with a slightly different beginning. This show follows the same formula of overpowered person that is vaguely (or very) aware of the future and can mentally dance around "enemies turned friends". The big scary thing at the beginning, while driving the character's actions, feels barely involved in the story. The school exam/race/competition was pretty fun though.

An unfunny skit show with weirdly Saturday morning cartoon esque violence. The characters are fine, but they feel extremely out of place with what the show is doing. Don't bother.

I can't fault the movie for not doing what "I" wanted, but I was supremely disappointed with where the story went after about 20 minutes. The initial concept of the plot is excellent and has so much more to explore, but since movie has to movie the plot moves on to an acceptable but dull second act. I was completely checked out by the third act, but acting and style wise it's superb (story 6/10).

Finally, an isekai protagonist with half a personality. The show sets up and delivers acceptably, but not much more than that. There are a few really good scenes buried within, but level's off to uninteresting in the second half. One scene in particular that would make for an excellent story on its own if it was fleshed out and done more purposefully (heroes in the dungeon)

It's cool and fun. Ciel is pretty fun to watch albeit his overbearing grouchy-ness towards friends and family. You won't not feel "where is this plot going" however.

A lot of people are turned off by Trancy, but it is nice to be drip fed an arching plot. The ending is messy and confused, but it does develop the story in a fascinating way. Since this appears to be the end of the story, the ending now comes off as unsatisfying. If you liked the finality of season 1, maybe don't watch the end of season 2.

A really fun story that greatly fleshes out the side characters, if a bit too much. The ending climax is a joy to view, though it does weirdly retcon some parts of season 1.

An ok story that sticks to the universe beyond the special. Unfortunately the special puts too much effort into a single arching plot line and loses most of what made season 1 great. If you aren't really interested in where the plot is going after a few episodes, then you are safe to skip. All that changes is a new character to the main cast.

A fun who-done-it like Sherlock Holmes of old. It's a solid story with Black Butler fun mixed well into it. This follows Book of Circus, so the new character may be a bit jarring on first instance.

Another entry in the interesting "regression" sub-genre. Used somewhat effectively in that she uses knowledge of previous "life loops" to help her, though still feels underutilized. The argument is... fine, but feels undercooked as the villain changed his mind a little too fast. Some good scenes in the middle though.

Talk about a blank slate among blank slate characters. Very boring save for some side character moments that are genuinely humorous. There's exactly one great scene in the middle that amounts to very little (not to mention the eye-roll worthy fake out). This is a truly bad isekai, would not recommend.

So much fantastic potential absolutely wasted. It hurts to see. It set itself up with all the right tools for a good isekai and good story argument, then completely fell on its face devolving into stilted romance and nearly abandoning the very thing that's in the title of the damn show.
