pretty much a recap

criminally underrated, like many other independent experimental short films on this website. the animation style was so unique and imaginative and the story felt very personal, i loved it

watched on youtube in a shitty 240p video from 2007. as it should be consumed

there are some plot elements handled a bit weakly like the anaconda security guard that completely disappeared from the story for some reason... overall still pretty good, but more of a 7.5/10

it's ok, i like the song but the music video is just visuals from the movies

really enjoyable but i wish it was 24 episodes long instead. things only really started moving at the end...

a very sweet summer film filled with cliches that i can forgive

it made me more emotional than i thought it would. really great overall

i can already imagine the audience soyjacking when those monsters showed up in Daicon III (and of course the boob drop in Daicon IV). really awesome stuff, the official remasters of these two shorts that they're apparently working on can't come soon enough

more focused on the action and pretty visuals than the original tv series was. i prefer the story of NGE but this was still very good and the ending is intriguing. i can't see the point of the new Mari character, she's just like Asuka but without a backstory

hmm i kinda expected more from Yamada, this feels like an animation test for her new movie The Colors Within. it starts out extremely slow in complete silence and i mentally checked out in the middle and near the end of the MV. there is a really nice sequence in the second half where you can only see their shadows and i liked when the music picked up in energy. it just didn't click with me as a whole package, wish i enjoyed it more.

really great season and a very wholesome end to the Sound! Euphonium franchise. i wish the season was longer so we could spend more time with the characters but alas. KyoAni did it again and i'm excited to see what they'll tackle next

Recap of S2 focused on Asuka

maaan this makes me really wish KyoAni animated Kumiko's 2nd year in a TV anime format instead of a 100-minute movie and this 50-minute special. i feel like so many scenes got lost, in this film we didn't even see the final performance and people's reaction to the results, we only got our main girls talking about other people's reactions in a short scene at the very end. i assume the showrunners want to be finished with this franchise so they can move to adapting IP from their LN label. but Eupho is Eupho so i still enjoyed this even in a faster-paced, trunkated format. off to season 3 now ^^

this movie reminds me of 2017 when i watched a lot of romance anime.... quite predictable but it made me very emotional, sad boy hours (┬┬﹏┬┬)

A shounen masterpiece on par with FMA: Brotherhood. I loved it

this film was very good as i've come to expect from Miyazaki, it's his most metaphorical and introspective one yet. but at the same time he's staying in his comfort zone with this, the story reminded me a lot of Spirited Away with differences in the setting and characters. i thought the ending was similar to the Nausicaä manga with the former focusing on the social aspect/context instead of an environmentalist one (does that make sense? word salad). but the movie for sure gave me a lot to think about and i think it deserves all the praise it got

better than the first season but i am still hesitant to give it a 9

what the hell happened in ep 6, jesus christ....
this season was actually quite good until that episode, when it fell apart both plot-wise and on the technical side. these problems continued until the last episode, but the ending still has me interested since we'll hopefully get some backstory in the "final" season and bring various character arcs to a conclusion.

this thing was as expected pretty pointless and forgettable but doesn't the ending imply that Madoka died and Homura went back in time to try and save her again? but the story still went on for everyone else so doesn't that mean that whenever Homura 'restarts the timeline' she actually just creates an alternate timeline and lives there until she fails to save Madoka and restarts again? so doesn't that mean that before the ending of the TV show there were hundreds of alternate timelines, in all of which Madoka is dead and Homura disappers after Walpurgisnacht? interesting. but as far as i'm aware, every timeline would get erased by Madoka at the end of the TV series (and then again by Homura at the end of Rebellion?) so this one would also disappear at that point. (although it's been a while since i saw the show and Rebellion movie, maybe i missed something)

so God Madoka closing the Magia Record book is simbolic of her erasing every timeline (except her own) at the end of the TV show and the events, sacrifices etc. of magical girls in them only remaining in her memory. cool, i guess it does tie into the sequence shown at the end of the final episode, saying how all their achievements are unseen and only remembered by a few. still doesn't change the fact that none of their sacrifices (Touka, Ui, Nemu, Momoko, Mifuyu, Kuroe) mattered because the timeline gets erased and only God Madoka (and later Homura after Rebellion?) will remember it.

although one could say that it doesn't matter that everything got erased at the end of the TV show and later Rebellion, all the events depicted here still *did* happen, and that's totally valid. but it just makes me personally care much less about these types of side-stories, i just wanna see what happens in the Rebellion sequel, y'know?

and of course these are just my thoughts about the lore and nature of this side-story, everyone already talked about the underwhelming production values, plot and characters before me and i didn't want to just repeat them.

watched the first 10 episodes with MTBB modified subtitles and the last 4 with the unmodified Aniplex subtitle track, the latter was clearly worse.

monogatari is back and as sharp as ever, excited for more adaptations. they skipped around the arcs intentionally for the first time in the series history and i wonder what the next batch of arcs will be called (Off & Monster Season Part 2? 2nd-cour?). hopefully they'll adapt all of them

i disliked what they did with Gilbert's character which led to the story being pretty clichè sometime. but everything else is kyoani-level of perfect, that the animation is outstanding goes without saying. i just wish i was more emotionally invested in the main romance, my eyes were dry as the Sahara desert

a spin-off of The Tatami Galaxy taking place in one of the many protagonist's college-year loops. it's on par with the original TV show, very fun with a quirky time travel concept. i wish Disney+ released all of it as a single movie tho

i did not intend to watch this today, i only watched the first two episodes out of morbid curiosity on my phone (on hanime.tv, after someone posted the link on reddit lol). yep it's pure trash but i get the appeal, it's kinda ironically entertaining at times

Not the first show I dropped, but the first one where I had the intention of finishing it before starting. I was really bored while watching, the animation was bad and the story didn't interest me at all. But I still respect it, it's just not for me I guess.
