Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid 3rd Season

Although everything the young duke touches perishes, his existence is far from lonely. His spirited siblings Viola and Walter, loyal butler Rob, and the eccentric witches Cuff and Zain are regularly livening up his secluded mansion. But it is the duke's flirty maid, Alice Lendrott, who fills him with the promise of a beautiful tomorrow and the determination to break this hellish spell cast upon him.

The identity of the witch who cursed the duke has been uncovered thanks to Zain's unique magic and the help of Daleth, the leader of the underworld. However, the villain is a notoriously fearsome and powerful witch, who, enraged by the duke and his companions' trip back in time, torments them even from the afterlife. Moreover, an unexpected loved one reappears, strengthening the duke and Alice's hope to break the curse and finally close the distance between them.

It’s crazy to think that I wanted to pass on the Bocchan anime because of it being 3D animation and here I am, 3 seasons later with it as one of my favourite romance stories of all time. A brilliantly crafted story about the resilience of love, enduring bonds and power of forgiveness. Featuring some of the best characters you’ll see and beautiful animation, season 3 is a fitting conclusion to a story that’s been masterfully built up over the last few years. It’s a must watch for any romance fan.

Traditionally I’ve steered clear of 3D anime and CGI stuff in general because it usually ... comes off as soulless to me. I decided to give this series a go because I’d heard such great things about the manga and from the very first episode I was hooked. The two leads’ playful chemistry and wholesome interactions rocked my world. I watched them overcome trial after trial together with the cruel twist that they can’t even touch one another. By the time season 3 came around, as a viewer we could all tell it was the end game. It was always just a matter of whether or not they could satisfactorily wrap everything up and resolve all the outstanding plot lines they’d established, and I can happily say they succeeded my wildest expectations. Season 3 was gripping and enthralling throughout with a climax that’s very much in line with the story’s themes of forgiveness and love overcoming all obstacles.

What most impressed me about this season was the ability of the author to create all these different plot lines with characters both past and present, interweave them into a cohesive narrative and then give them all an ending. I mean there’s literally not one stone left unturned for a series that has 15+ recognisable characters. It’s clear how much thought and love went into this story and the ending reflects it.

As usual the animation looked amazing this season, arguably better than the previous two seasons at times. The OST was solid, pacing was good, just no complaints really overall. Studio delivered just like the story did.

If you’ve watched the first two seasons of Bocchan, this is a no brained to get the conclusion. I don’t think anyone will feel disappointed. There’s a lot of extra twists and turns that our fave characters deal with and it just makes the pay off at the end that much more rewarding and fulfilling. Bravo to everyone involved in this story and I’m thankful to have been able to enjoy it.

Bocchan season 3 gets a very easy 10, out of 10

I love these romance stories and accept that they have chosen a 3D animation style with an oily sky. As a manga reader, I read every episode. I can't believe in the most important chapter that is the end, when it's the wedding. I got a song made by the same voice actors. I mean, I don't have anything against it with the songs but I really would have liked it if the final song was more elaborate but no, it was the same song that they take out their sleeve along the series just to make fill. I would have given it a 10/10 ... but that song at the end of the super final, was the drop that poured out the base. the apple of discord, I really didn't like that song at all. For everything else I congratulate them because even if it is the majority it was well adapted to the manga. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't perfect. If you want to see the end, better read it in the manga is better there. that's all thanks for your attention.

Worst season by far!

This season has left me feeling utterly frustrated and disappointed. Bocchan, a character who has endured unimaginable suffering—isolated, unable to touch any living being due to a cruel curse—is now depicted as risking everything for the witch who ruined his life.

Bocchan's actions in this season are nothing short of infuriating. Despite the countless years of loneliness, the agony of not being able to feel the warmth of another human being, and the constant emotional torment of not being able to inherit the throne and being forced to living away from the whole family, he decides to risk his own life ... to save the very witch responsible for his misery. It's a slap in the face to every moment we've watched him struggle and persevere.

The scene where Bocchan steps in front of a spell to protect the witch is particularly galling. How could he throw away everything—his safety, his chance at breaking the curse, his friends who were there to help him, and even his own life—for someone who caused him such pain? It's as if the series completely disregards the gravity of his past suffering. We are left feeling betrayed by these nonsense actions.

This season doesn't just undermine Bocchan's character; it obliterates the emotional connection we've built. His willingness to sacrifice himself for the witch diminishes the intense, awful times he faced. It's maddening to see a character who had every reason to fight for his own redemption now portrayed as a martyr for the very source of his torment.

In summary, Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid's third season is a disappointing misstep. Bocchan's irrational and infuriating decisions make it hard to continue caring about his journey. The show has lost its way, transforming a tale of perseverance and suffering into a confusing and frustrating narrative that disrespects its own history. The author is a great writer of love stories and drama, as we can see from the first season, but when it comes to action, it's a tragedy. At least the last episode was somewhat relieving with the couples that were formed, and that's the only thing this season is worth.
