Synopsis

Third-year junior high schooler Manaka Mizusawa is tasked by her teacher to put a poster up about a trial ice hockey class sponsored by the Dream Monkeys, their city's local professional team. Interested in attending the class herself, Manaka also persuades her younger sister Ayaka and her clubmates Kaoruko Yanagida and Mami Ono to join her.

When the four gather at the gymnasium where the tutorial is held, they meet fellow third-year students Riko Saginuma and Naomi Takagi. As the girls practice their hearts out, their fascination for the sport increases, motivating them to play on a competitive level. Wanting to experience the unique and exciting memories that ice hockey can offer, the girls gradually form a team that has the potential to reach the top.

After 12 eps I can tell you that if you’ve seen the poster you know what to expect, it isn’t really Slam Dunk on ice but it also never advertised itself as that. This is aesthetically a “CGDCT” anime which in my opinion isn’t the best match for a story about hockey but it might just be strange enough to work. If the idol part of the show puts you off, first of all don’t worry i understand it but please also understand that it isn’t a bad strategy. This show isn’t made for a tradicional overseas market and seeing the success of Uma Musume read more

Short Review!

This show had very strong start but after 6 episodes it start to fell off, the story just like other sports anime (a newbie become a champion) i mean they didn't even try to hide the winner in the very first episode

it would be really great if we didn't know who's going to win in the final but they decided to play it safe and gave us mainstream ending.

it's still enjoyable to watch, the characters friendships is very strong and yuu development who became more open after meeting with dream monkeys members

Story: 7/10
Art: 9/10
Sound: 10/10
Characters: 9/10
Enjoyment: 9/10
Overall: 9/10

*Minor spoilers*

I feel bad for Puraore.

As the ultimate representative of the whole Canadian community and a pretty big defender of the main sport from the same country, I’m shocked to see this anime with a rating that low. As much as I like my CGDCT, it’s kind of a surprise to see it being that stable during the whole season. Never did it get over a seven, the least this kind of anime can get with how little it can work with.

Jokes aside, I don’t particularly like Puraore because I’m Canadian myself, otherwise it would sounds stupid for other people to see an anime that read more

PuraOre!'s the very first anime to have the distinction of featuring ice hockey, and yet still, fail to hit that mark, much less intentionally butt-hurting the one sport that Canadians are most famous and can be proud of. The progenitor anime that did anything and everything wrong from the get-go, marred from yet another CyberAgent and DMM Games' mixed-media project who's trying too hard to match the brillance of CyGames's Uma Musume, only to then ask: "May I copy your homework? Not to worry, my expertise is in ice hockey, nothing will be similar alike!". Look where we are now, and I wish I can read more
