Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen

After a string of mysterious disappearances begin to plague a train, the Demon Slayer Corps' multiple attempts to remedy the problem prove fruitless. To prevent further casualties, the Flame Pillar, Kyoujurou Rengoku, takes it upon himself to eliminate the threat. Accompanying him are some of the Corps' most promising new blood: Tanjirou Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira, who all hope to witness the fiery feats of this model demon slayer firsthand.

Unbeknownst to them, the demonic forces responsible for the disappearances have already put their sinister plan in motion. Under this demonic presence, the group must muster every ounce of their willpower and draw their swords to save all two hundred passengers onboard. As things begin to spiral out of control, Tanjirou's resolve and commitment to duty are put to the test.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when a whole movie was dedicated to a single arc, but wow—Mugen Train completely shattered my expectations.

Right from the first frame, the animation felt like a full-blown cinematic experience. Ufotable didn’t just deliver quality—they pushed it to a level where every flame, every slash, every tear looked alive. Watching it in a theater was honestly one of the best anime viewing experiences I’ve had.

What stood out most for me was how they balanced intense action with emotional weight. The story flow was tight, no filler, no wasted moments. And as someone who’s big on character depth, I really appreciated ... how they gave time to explore Rengoku’s backstory and personality. It made everything hit so much harder.

The fight scenes, especially near the end, were jaw-dropping. Every move had weight. And the OST? Absolute chills. The music carried so much of the emotion—it just elevated everything.

It’s the kind of film that lingers with you after the credits roll.

Mixed Feelings

I was excited to watch because friends said it was really good but it was underwhelming. Took a month to finish—not because it’s long, but because the plot drags like it’s stuck in slow motion. Physically made me feel tired so I had to pause it after about 20 minutes multiple times.

Visually, it’s stunning. Every frame is crisp, well-lit, and meticulously animated. You could pause anywhere and get a desktop wallpaper. But storytelling? That’s where it falls apart. If beautiful animation is enough, you might enjoy it. If you're looking for story, prepare to be underwhelmed.

This second season is a disappointment. The first season had stunning animation, well-developed characters, a story that built up nicely, and great fights. This second season, however, adds nothing to the first. It’s basically fight after fight from start to finish.

Even though it’s well animated, the battles feel dragged out too long. They try to make a lot out of the animation, but in the end, it’s not really worth it. You could really skip straight to season 3 without missing anything.

If you just want to see good animation, go for it. But an anime isn’t just about pretty visuals.
