Relaxing slice-of-life anime about groups of funny little girls. Both have great scenery.

Very similar art style and both have elementary school girls doing cute things/causing adults trouble. The interactions between the 3 main girls of Mitsuboshi, resemble those of Ichigo Mashimaro. Overall, if you liked one, you will sure to like the other.

Trio of very young girls (grade school/kindergarden) and their adventures and mischiefs towards adults in near vicinity. The girls in those two trios have similar personalities - quiet and twisted one, hyperactive one and kind one. Cuteness overload.

Trio of grade schoolers wreaks havoc in their town. They also target one older guy which they try to bully in a way. While Mitsuboshi Colors is focused on cute aspect, Mitsudomoe is focused on a bit more ecchi aspect.

At the surface "Mitsuboshi Colors" and "Hakumei to Mikochi" may not seem to have anything in common. The former is a comedy about the everyday antics of a trio of kids who play "pretend" as the saviors of their town whilst the latter is an all-out Iyashikei about a duo of "tiny people" living their life in close harmony with animals in a forest. However, what brings this shows together is the underlying theme of innocence...something that we adults no longer even strive to regain. Be it the nonsensical innocence of "Colors" conjuring up absurd scenarios to emerge as the saviors of their town or  read more

Both anime revolve around the MCs playing "pretend"....to varying extents. In "Mitsuboshi Colors" the MCs are elementary school students who play pretend as the protectors of their town with the local policeman and the grandfatherly "Pops" facilitating their activities. In "Chuunibyou" the MCs are high-school students who either formerly suffered or currently suffer from a delusional syndrome making them think and act as if they lived in a fantastical realm. In either case both anime ask a pertinent question (atleast IMO): "If you let your imagination run wild and experience such fantastical delusions that cause no harm to anyone else....are you really suffering? If you like young cute girls as much as I do then I'm sure you adore both.

Both series are slice-of-life anime that are pretty comedic. While the girls in Mitsuboshi Colors do not play instruments, they have similar senses of humor and enjoy their life with very little drama. I would say Mitsuboshi Colors mixes the naughty-children humor from Calvin and Hobbes with the cute, playful attitude of the K-On band members, so if you are also a fan of both I would really recommend this show. Also, it has a bright color palette similar to K-on, and a similar art style.

Both of them have 3 main characters with almost the same characterization. Sacchan = Baka (noisy & ridiculous) Yui = Wota (shy) Kotoha = Robo (serious) You could say, Joshikousei no Mudazukai (JnM) is the high school version, Mitsuboshi Colors is the elementary school version. Although JnM has many supporting characters who are the same age & Mitsuboshi Colors usually plays outside school hours.

Mitsuboshi Colors is also an Iyashikei anime, but this time, it is about a group of friends as they discover things in their neighborhood. I love the premise of these two animes that they don't have a heavy plot (hence, Iyashikei) but there is always an overarching theme that makes the episodes relevant and coherent (e.g. this anime is all about their lives and encounters in their Breakwater Club, Mitsuboshi Colors is about their lives and encounters in their neighborhood). You should definitely check Colors if you liked this.

It's not about magic since just only one show here is mahou shoujo. But it's about adorable girls solving problems and unveiling mysteries in a friendly and charming town. A long-lasting feel-good experience.

I'm kind of cheating here, since this recommendation is pretty low effort. Well, for starters, both Mitsuboshi Colors and Slow Start are from the winter 2018 season. Both anime involve a group of cute girls just going around doing their fun little adventures. Slow Start takes place in high school, and the girls meet the main character on their first day of school, and than start hanging out together, performing their cute antics. Mitsuboshi Colors involves 3 young girls having their own club house and having fun playing their childish detective games. Both shows are in the fan  read more

Slice of life about quirky cute girls doing quirky cute stuff.
report Recommended by abystoma2
Both series focus on the lives and experiences of latter-stage elementary school girls, with Mitsuboshi more of a slice of life series and 12-sai focusing on the romantic relationships of the characters.

Kids doing things kids do and being funny while at it. Kyou no 5 no 2 has some themes that are a little bit ecchi, while Mitsuboshi Colors has absolutely none.

3 young female protagonists enjoying life as they can and some ridiculous situations, episodes composed of little segments, basically Mitsuboshi is a light version of Asobi Asobase's blue humour

both anime about 3 cute girls daily life and both are so funny

Both elicit memories of silly moments in childhood. Barakamon actually focuses on the adult as the centerpiece and has a small overarching plot, whereas Mitsuboshi Colors strings together many small adventures the little girls have.

Both involve a similar cast of characters (Timid Red girl, smug Blue girl and energetic Yellow girl) engage in fun, often childish, adventures

Another SOL depicting the friendship and daily interactions of three young girls that is WAY more hilarious than it has any right to be 😆
