Walkure Romanze

Taking place at Winford Academy located in an old town called Helen's Hill, the story is all about knights and the sport of jousting. At this school, students learn how to become knights, ride horses and joust properly. The main character is a young man named Takahiro Mizuno who was training to become a knight and jouster but after suffering an injury he dropped out of the knight program and joined the begleiter (assistant) program instead. Due to his animal handling skills and former experience as a jouster, this makes him a hot commodity. Multiple beautiful girls in the school want him to become their personal begleiter, though Takahiro always refuses their offers.

One day a bizarre accident causes his friend, Mio Kisaski, to be challenged to a jousting duel despite her not actually being a knight. Takahiro agrees to become her temporary begleiter, but that ends up only being the beginning of their partnership as she enrolls in the annual tournament.

The story revolves around a guy who is fighting against his past as a jouster and by choosing a girl to teach is the start of him recovering part that of himself however he only does this at the end; this is the forward momentum of the story progression
However the relationship between the MC and the girls is the second story of them becoming closer together

The jousting is a new sport based anime idea that I enjoyed seeing. This was well explain/presented with good reliability to real life in mock jousting ... eg. where Non-metal poles are used

All characters are individual with different stories and tasks/ points they must complete to overcome their boundaries and improve

The art style is good and detailed granted the same basic character design may have been transferred (similar to other anime's ~ not to point fingers )

Overall its a medium-low 7 Yes it may be a 'easy-going' anime however there is still a well developed story just many parts are limited (mainly due to the low ep` count that is a recurrence across most animes' {due to low project income}

Improvements needed include:
a slower more detailed view of the whole story not just the events that are most important
More inclusion of school life eg. classes/ more of a routine
More improvements to the School VS School battles
Fitness routine
History of the sport (doesn't have to be factual )

Alternate views may help with this

MOST OF ALL Further story development to see how far they go and if the main character 'Takahiro Mizuno' ever does become a jouster again and how this improves/connects the relationship
more between characters and the story

Mixed Feelings

In the beginning, Walkure Romanze starts as a promising anime.

Let's be honest; a story based on jousting is something very original. You cannot find a lot of stories based on that.

But, it looks like the creator of Walkure Romanze didn't intend to create something remarkable.

The story is straightforward and follows the same cliche as other harem animes.

It is sad to see how a story with a high potential finish transformed into an average anime.

If you decide to watch Walkure Romanze, even though it can be fun because it is not a bad story, you can be sure that there are many other things you can ... do more beneficial to get fun.

In summary, what bothers me about this anime is that the author has everything to create something remarkable, but in the end, he was satisfied with an average story.

The idea of romance can go out the window, I would put this more as an ecchi, slice of life. A modern-day surrounding of vehicles and cities with rich people for some reason on estates and in castles.

The show pushes the fan service to make up for the lack of character depth, and storyline as they try and push the guy who loves jousting, the guy who gets injured, the guy who wants to stay involved with jousting but seems to scare to go back and get whooped again.

At the same time, the guy tries to teach someone who finds a love of ... jousting, and has an interest in him, even if he ignores all romantic interest in a typical harem-esque style. Guy sits oblivious, girls battle for him, just to be mostly stood up.

Its not a great anime, it is not anything special, you want to see who wins and qualifies in the tournament, but everyone ends up friends, and everything is too perfect, which kinda makes me want to vomit. Is the typical slice of life, nothing really happens, despite what happens, and everyone continues on style anime. The art is average by modern standards, the characters poorly developed and typical, soud nothing special but the poor story line, kept a poor enjoyment and overall of 3
