The official website of the Arknights anime series announced a new television anime titled Arknights: Rise From Ember on Saturday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured) and an announcement promo. Yostar Pictures is returning to produce the new anime.

The first season, Arknights: Reimei Zensou (Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn), aired in Fall 2022, followed by the second season, Arknights: Touin Kiro (Arknights: Perish in Frost), in Fall 2023—each running for eight episodes. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons with English subtitles worldwide, excluding Asia.

The action television anime series is based on Hypergryph's smartphone game, which was released in China in May 2019 and other countries the following year. Hypergryph announced a spin-off game, Arknights: Endfield, for PC and mobile in March 2022.

It's more popular in China and Japan, like far more popular than in North America.

I'm surprised season 1 never got dubbed. Is the game's fanbase largely not in North America?

I just finished both seasons few days ago before deciding into joining Arknight Community, seeing this update made me really hype ngl due to how good last season did. Although 8 eps seems short but as long as Yostar can keep up new chapters like this I'm all in! Hope in come out soon if possible within this year's Summer/Fall.

Just saw this shortly after it was posted on MAL (there was also an Arknights-related update on Anilist today and I thought it was perhaps a new season, but looked to be a short donghua video or something).

The circumstances under which I even learned of this anime's (and the series/franchise as a whole's) existence back a few weeks into when the first season had started airing in the autumn of 2022 was completely random and coincidental, but I'm glad I did, and that first season alone, pretty effectively gripped and hooked me in for the long haul (unless there is a serious sudden unforeseen dip in quality for whatever reason, like we always have to remind ourselves can happen to any show seemingly out of "nowhere" but for a myriad of behind the scenes reasons).

I was honestly shocked and blown away by its quality - the quality of what I expected to just be an ultra-generic throwaway total low effort bland fantasy going through the motions to add to the existing blob of vision-less generic fantasy out there (in anime or otherwise). On the contrary, it felt downright cinematic and the combination of very skillful direction, passionate voice acting, great music and its use, was used for maximum impact. The second season similarly had some beautiful and intense episodes, scenes, and even little individual small moments, but I think I'm in the minority in asserting that as a whole I actually preferred the first season.

Anyway, I have no game bias. I never played the games. Never even heard of their existence, as I said, until learning of the anime and watching it. And I still haven't because I don't play mobile games, don't own a smartphone, and don't really play video games in general these days. But at least as an anime series this is one of the better high fantasy worlds and concepts I've seen realized in recent times.

@mBlazi I really wonder why they're stretching out the adaptation so much even though it seems to be pretty successful overall.

Interesting. KV shows Ep 8 but Ep 8 is incredibly long and Ch 7 is of course before it. Honesty hope it airs next year for more time and more episodes as this is where peak hits and it has to be fantastic.
