'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED' Sequel Anime Film in Production
During the opening ceremony of the establishment for the full-scale Freedom Gundam statue in Shanghai on Friday, Bandai Namco Group announced a project titled Gundam Seed Project Ignited. The project, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED anime series, features multiple installments, including the sequel film that was announced in 2006. Mitsuo Fukuda is returning to helm the film.
The original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED television anime aired between Fall 2002–2003 in 50 episodes. The 50-episode Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny sequel anime series aired from Fall 2004–2005, followed by the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Final Plus: The Chosen Future OVA in December 2005.

Akatsuki no Kuruma will always be the best ED. Jesus Yamato, that shit was perfect.
Akatsuki is a great song but the opening and ending songs were great as well. That piano music was awesome too as was the moment Kira descends from the colonies with the stolen Gundam (Freedom i think it was). Too many songs and music to mention really.

Remember i had a contact working in Namco back in 2006 and i was fighting with people all around cause he was telling me that rumour has it the new SEED was like a couple of years away from happening (hell i was fighting with people about this until 2010 when i finally gave up).
Well it never did happen back then so i am very happy that it finally happens now. I just hope they follow in the footsteps of SEED, Destiny was ok but it was way too similar to SEED (just the other way around) so not as good. Also seeing the original cast would be great.
I just hope that they are not using the name to drag people back into the series. I can't help to think that they will put Kira, Shin, Cagali and Lacus in the 2nd row just to introduce a new generation. Sure hope i am wrong.
It was the soundtrack that had a lasting impression on everyone, the music, the lyrics, it was awesome and unlike most modern anime it had numerous songs and music for us to listen to (i see new anime and the soundtracks have maybe 2-3 tracks i like, SEED and Destiny had like 5-6 tracks i liked in each).

oh i remember that part. i cry a little when that song appear. Kira went thru a lot in Seed. also like how the romance interests help him by becoming his mental support. unlike in some other series where they sometime drag down the MC.
its no wonder why people want him back in destiny when it aired (beside the strike freedom kit reason)

this is the most excited I have ever been for an upcoming anime, especially because I had lost all hope for this happening. I'm curious whether this takes place far enough in the future that we'll get new Gundams, or if it will use the Destiny suits. At least we'll probably get some cool new Gunpla from this lol.

Wing, 00, IBO, G Figter. That is just too many alternate timelines that people are not going to care about. Ultimately, I think people are going to skip these series altogether if they are never going to lead anything.
This Seed anime film is definitely long overdue. But I am not sure if Sunrise has any plans to add more ovas or films to seed since the writer passed away.
I don't care what anyone thinks, Gundam Seed is the most successful Alternate Gundam timeline. Just go to your gunpla store and see the aisle of seed kits.
