Brr.. Only 10 eps and then next cour will be on 2-3 months this is big dissapointment . i've been a huge fan of the fate franchise ever since the fate zero to fate stay night so on and so fort.

This year's fate series they kinda or excuse me let me change that they rush the story line and fight scenes too, especialy in the very first battle of nero and francis drake.

So overall this fate series is much worse than the fate apo that a-1 pictures animated. I dont have any problems with shaft they provide us with good anime series like nisekoi S1 the S2 (nah i hate the story development) Bakemonogatari up to the Owarimonogatari and the 3 movies of it. I still prefer Ufotable as the best animation for fate series.

Sorry for the Bad english haha :D

Ehh... not going to help that much, this adaptation wasn't good

the anime has a terrible rating by the supposed experts in anime, it is impossible that titles like "Hakumei no Mikochi" have exceeded, especially if fate / extra is so much synonymous with bakemonogatari, I think the critics here are just people with I hate fate.

So much disappointment with this season.

Can't believe how much some Fate fans were hyping this up with the PV's and visuals were being released.

Mean score is what most people use to decide to watch an anime or not

Well, those people are dumb, MAL scores mean basically nothing, and are random as f*ck.

Look at all those Gintamas in the TOP 20. Or Code Geass Season 2 being in it. Or over 80% of all anime rated in this database being 7.XX...
They are not random. A high score means the majority thought it was good, while it doesn't guarantee the person in question will enjoy themselves, it at least gives them an idea of how niche a title is. The Gintama example is an extreme case not to mention all it takes is one or two clicks to realize most of Gintama's titles are sequels and will by default get higher scores. It might take a little more to know about the 1/5 rule but if you can't figure even that out then you shouldn't be looking at the top list to begin with; if you see a top list then you should know all the parameters that affect the rankings in it.

As for 80% of the DB being above 7.XX, I'm pretty sure that's false but I do get your point. That isn't due to MAL ratings meaning nothing but due to the fact people would rather watch something they like. Why would someone finish all 300+ something episodes of Naruto or Bleach only to rate them 1/10 in the end? Most will just drop them when they stop enjoying it and move on, people rarely actually go that far for something they dislike. The ratings are skewed, yes, but there is actual logic behind it.

When is the swarm of people going to come again complaining the Fate title is milked?
But honestly it doesn't make any sense separating the titles like this at all...
I'm excited for some Gawain action though

I dunno where you got your statistics for 80% of all anime being 7.XX from but there are exactly 14200 titles in MAL database (as of the moment I am posting, excluding the "unapproved" ones) and exactly 3568 are 7.00 and up which turns out to be 25.13% of the total.

Won't argue on the fact that I check the mean score before watching an anime. Tried watching Gintama and it turned out one of the best anime I have seen thanks to the score.

Are you including the titles without a score at all 0.00 (nobody watched), or with just barely a score, like, 1 to 50 people having full watched it? If you do, I am sure those 25% number rise a lot.

But my point is, the database is mostly irrelevant on scores.

Also, did not liked Extra, but making this looks worse than Apocrypha fiasco?
Like, animation is worse in apocrypha, OST is worse, MC is FAR WORSE (Jesus Christ Sieg, die in a hole, dude...), the plot is all over the place (only Shirou is planning something instead of reacting), etc etc.

^ Basically.

Then again its more of inconsistency if anything. That's like for me I don't rely on scores anymore.

Mean score is what most people use to decide to watch an anime or not, if the mean score is lower because the climax of the show is in a separate entry, people will be put off.
