Never seen it (don't really care), but seems like Sakura Taisen...

Not really. It is much more of a historical fantasy with no mecha or other out of place elements, just a world where youkai exist and live alongside humans!, though not without some serious discrimination issues mind you.

I can't wait for my Dvds to arrive later this week! As for potential BD releases, either here or in Japan, it was only released on Dvd in Japan so far, so I have doubts about it getting a BD release any time soon.

^ Really? :O Didn't know that. I suppose I just won't get the BDs then 8D Well, I still have time until then anyway :3

Doesn't concern my region, but since I enjoyed both the manga and anime, it's a good thing anyway. :D

You can import and play the DVDs on the computer since you can change regions (5 times only) or you can buy a region free DVD player online I seen them for cheap. ^_^

I plan on buying the original manga/anime in Japanese once I can understand it well enough~

Thats good, but some Japanese Blurays come with English subs and I'm sure there will be more in the future cause the Japanese seem to want to force us to pay their prices eventually. >_>

Man, that's one helluva premium. Not sure if I want it, though...
