Previous topic: Mangaka Akamatsu Ken To Launch Free Download Service of Discontinued Manga

Akamatsu Ken said the users have purchased significant number of items through the attached Amazon Associate program. He was perplexed to see they have bought not only his Negima manga but also USB cables and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei manga. He jokingly complained that it's humiliating to earn money with the help of Kumeta.

The beta test of Love Hina download will end in one month and Akamatsu will decide whether to launch J-Comi service assessing the performance of the beta test.

Love hina is kinda outdated..

and I hate its ending btw...

Something old is bad? And I loved Love Hina's ending, what else could you want?

Anyway 14 downloads from me alone, I own all of Love Hina but decided to grab them anyway, try to teach myself Japanese using it.

I didn't said that something old is bad, did I? And the ending...You're satisfied with a 4 ep. rushed ending??

Sorry, I figured a discussion about downloading manga you were complaining about the manga's ending, the anime ends way before the manga, and the ending I did hear stunk. We were talking about two different endings.

And you said the biggest complaint was outdated, again I blame the anime, only good bit of the anime was Sakura Saku, the rest stunk.

I'll read the manga then...someday xD

This is your fault for actually watching the terrible anime version.

We all know this won't work. I'm pretty confident that the revenue won't cut it.

Akamatsu, Kumeta and Hata Kenjirou (Hayate no Gotoku) crack jokes at each other like this every once in a while. They're friends.

Good. With this business model coming up, acceptance for downloading manga will rise and soon all of my favourite manga will be up. Everything's going according to plan

They should add a donations button so they can keep i going for the people who do want it to work i would donate for something like this.

Hahaha, it's funny to see Akamatsu joking about Kumeta, two great manga authors in my opinion.

Million downloads in just three days. Either Love Hina is even more popular than I thought or maybe just many people REALLY want this thing to work.

Well that's nice...
Though it would be nice if they released translated ones as well x\
AND more manga other than Love Hina and Negima in the future...

I can't really tell with my limited japanese, but I think in the web dairy entry he added another paragraph to the tweet, apologizing for not understanding how Amazon counts the purchases.

So, as far as I'm reading here, the downloading business beta version that Akamatsu's handling is a success, right? then what's with the..
