So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I like the sound of this one if my understanding of the title is correct. And illustrated by Hisasi? Even better.

And I remember a volume of Gin no Saji before came with a silver spoon bundled with the Limited Edition. Now it's a towel? Lol.

I only heard about this one today, read about it with the news it was being animated and thought that the plot sounded great. But seeing it selling this much really makes me want to go out and get it.

Hisasi... 'nough said for sure. That guy has some weird kind of god-given talent to draw cute girls, it's superhuman-like for sure. I don't seem to grasp the meaning of the title perfectly though, what does it roughly translate to?

The first time we've seen a KA Esuma title rank on Oricon, so this is a pretty major moment. As a new publisher they've had very limited but gradually growing distribution so far, and where they were distributed, Oricon did not get data from. So to see >10k on a title not distributed by one of the big players is really great. Very good sign!

I noticed it too, and when I then checked Amazon I still could not find the LN. Perhaps I should try to find out which retailers now carry KA Esuma label and are covered by Oricon...

"And you thought there is never a girl online?" is the translation of the title given on the cover of the light novel.

According to Ultimatemegax, most of the sales reported by Oricon come from Animate's stores.

It's also doing really well on JBook's top bunko sales of the month, ranking at #4 just below the Twelve Kingdoms volume, although that's probably more due to it not being carried by many online stores so the sales are more focused on that one store. (JBook isn't covered by Oricon).

That makes sense. I think a simple comparison of Oricon covered bookstores and bookstores that carry KA Esuma would have yielded the bookstores whose sales showed up in this week's chart. Since I believe that a lot of sales still go through channels not covered by Oricon I believe the actual sales could be several times the figure reported by Oricon.

Ah, that ranking is not just for JBook, which is the internet retailer branch of the bookstore chain Bunkyoudo but for the whole Bunkyoudo chain including its multiple brick-and-mortar stores (there is a note at the top of the ranking page that says it gets real time data from POS of all its branches in the chain). I also believe that Bunkyoudo is covered by Oricon too.

IIRC Bunkyoudo report their disc sales to Oricon, but not their book sales.

Hmm.. but there is the word Yome that was not translated though... And Netoge is online game not just online...
I would translate the title as "You thought your waifu in online game is not a girl?"

That art is awesome. The premise seems interesting. It looks like a fun harem anime.

If the MC is a likeable character, someone like Aikawa Ayumu from Korezom, then I really hope this gets an anime adaption. If that was the case, then this could be really good.

While true, it isn't over yet for the other characters! Side story volume 10.5 is coming!

http://sakurasou.dengeki.com/news/

Volume 10 is wonderful, amazing series! Loved it, loved it so much, sad that it is ending but hope they can animate the rest of it. It really needs to be animated!

Would love a spinoff for the loser in the love triangle, I hope 10.5 points in that direction.

That's less a translation of the title than an alternate name, in English, for the main (Japanese) title.

I really like mahouka but yuutosei manga is quite lacking in terms of art compared to rettosei manga.
Quite surprised tbh.

I know that link but thanks. I was looking for the 2ch one of just light novels that people sometimes post. For some reason I can never find anything on 2ch myself no matter what search terms I put in. I need some 2ch search help... The Japanese is no problem, just not sure what the heck to search for, all the short forms for light novel are no use :(

Not many LN were out last week. Anyway the LN list I made on Thu is in Snowical's hand, I am sure he will post it before long.

That's a really short LN list (just had time to look at it now) indeed, lol. Oh yeah, Kotori's Love Live! Diary is out on July 30 xD

Does it include Blade Dance sales?

I don't see it on this list (as it covers July 15~21). Next volume of Blade Dance is out on July 24 right? The sales for Blade Dance 11, should be out on Thursday August 1st.

I though it out at July 25? Guess I was wrong. Well there is no intesting sell of manga hapening next week and it look like LN section will be boring too.

Blade Dance v11's release date is indeed July 25, but of course we know internet retailers, and even some brick-and-mortar bookstores, sell books a bit earlier. But whether the release date is 24th or 25th it will not be in this week's list because it covers the sales only up till July 21st as Ejc said.

The list this week for LN and anime related books is the shortest I have seen since I started to edit the list as news mods. The biggest thing for me is learning the existence of novels for Rozen Maiden and Tokyo Ghoul.
