Will it be able to top 5cm?

5cm per second was overrated crap. It took the exact same idea as Voices of a distant star and stretched it out to an hour and a half.

Hopefully this fellow starts trying to change his style a little bit.

Have you really watched those two movies ? 5cm per second lasts 1 hour...
The only similarity is the theme of distance, a theme that Shinkai seems to like ^^

Expecting lots of clouds/sunsets/general scenery porn.

Plot sounds pretty vague and a lot like everything Shinkai's ever done. I'm definitely on board though, just with some reservations. I'd love to see him try something new that doesn't involve teens/young adults going through some melancholic romance.

Is this the one he spent a year in London to gain inspiration for? Or was he just taking an extended holiday? Either way; do want.
