I am enjoying it since it's different from other anime's I've seen. Although, those sudden, flashing signs for red, black, and other things are kinda pissing my eyes off...

I honestly don't know what Rawrcarrotcake's deal is...she's extremely picky when it comes to voices and characters, but to bash Haruhi cuz the characters were "unoriginal?" It doesn't quite make sense to me. If that's the case, she must find 90% of anime to be unbearable to watch because-let's face it-characters are more or less reused all around the map. You can't watch a single anime without seeing at least one character that's closely similar to another character in some other anime.
Damn! After you started that thread about Hollywood bastardizing good books, I did do a little wikisearch on The Vampire's Assitant, and the setting for the book seemed completely different from what those commercials for the movie portrayed. Would you still watch the movie? It'd probably piss you off to no end...

YES!! I highly recommend Blassreiter, BUT if you're one who doesn't appreciate the combination of 2D and 3D animation, this anime might not be for you. Oh, wait. You've seen Burst angel, right? If you liked the combo then, you'll probably enjoy Blassreiter. I also heard that Blassreiter was voted as the best anime of 2008-just a little incentive there.

Hells yes! District 9 was awesome and unexpected, and you're on-point about it being a story of racism and oppression. I saw it a couple months ago with my cousin. Pssh! We all know that shit would happen...Hell, it may turn out even worse than that. Do you think they might come out with a sequel? It's do-able based on the ending, but should they? I remember my cousin said that he would appreciate it if they left it without a sequel. I'd be satisfied too, but I guess I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel...But then, it might just turn into your conventional alien invasion movie...

XXholic, I saw a couple of the episode but it looks weird as hell and if I remember correctly it has another manga it ties in.

Kanon 2006, I own all the DVD's + a legit copy of the game. That's how much of a fanboy I am. That and Nayuuki should have been the heroine of that anime, only anime where I hated the damn loli.

Welcome to the NHK, the manga is better IMO, but the anime is a great watch too.

As for afro samurai, not sure why I haven't seen that yet. Maybe because I thought it was a samurai champloo rip-off.

But I'm still undecided, should I watch anime or attempt to read Bakemonogatari (i.e. struggle with the Kanji because the author is Kanji crazy), or drown myself in VN's I haven't played, choices..choices...

Will do, but just before I sent you my last message, I started watching Bakemonogatari. Man, that show reminds me of the first Haruhi season that I couldn't help but make comparisons. Though, it's sort of...oh, what's the word I'm looking for...over-dramatic? I mean, the way the animators and writers projected the story, events, and conversations made things a bit more...complex that what they really are, but I guess that's what makes the anime so intriguing, I suppose. The way in which it's animated is rather unconventional, as far as I know.

Haha! Haha, damn straight. I can't believe folks are still bashing Code Geass, calling it the unoriginal love child of both Gundam and Death Note. Love child? What folks don't realize is that both anime came out during the same season. A matter of fact, Code Geas was airing 17 days before Death Note. Anyway, the fatc of the matter is that they're both friggin' epic and outstanding anime.

LOL Damn, that's the truth, though. When I'm at home having breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I'm sitting in front of my computer watching anime, and since I'm currently watching so many subbed anime, it's a pain in the ass to watch and eat at the same time. Keeping up with both the subtitles and what's going on in the animation itself is a chore on it's own, so I don't blame you for feeling that way. I suppose I've been watching subs long enough for me to get engaged in a subtitled show easily now, but I still like to be able to hear the characters speak in a language I'm familiar with, which is why I jumped for joy when Blassreiter was dubbed.

I wouldn't know, but since everyone I know who's seen it claims it's awesome, I'll check it out and let ya know how it goes.

No, Tokyo Majin's opening wasn't epic, it was awesome, but it wasn't epic, if anything, it was very dark!

I finally finished "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)" and i gotta say, Haruhi is bitchier in this season! gosh, if only she wasn't a girl, i would totally go in there and punch her lights out! anyways, i gave it 2 out of 10! i would give it a 1 but since it's Haruhi, i'll be generous. now to go re-watch the original Haruhi and that beautiful song called "God Knows"
