I have been watching anime for a long time even before I knew what It even was. The first anime I saw was Miyazaki's "My Neighbor Totoro" and was a huge favorite of mine as a kid. Then came the show that made a huge impact on me for years to come (until I grew out of it), that's right it's pokemon! Of course then I started watching more shows like Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh! along with Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, etc. and I was younger than 14 when I saw these shows! As I grew older, I start to realize What this thing called anime really is; I then start watching shows like Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, and also Ah my goddess and Chobits and slowly but surely, I became the person I am today.
As for manga, I can't recall what age I got into them, maybe it was between 15-17, but I really don't know. Anyway, some of the first mangas I checked out were the Chobits and Love Hina mangas, but that was back when I wasn't an anime fan, so those didn't interest me for a while. The two mangas, however, that help me start my interest in anime were actually Tokyo Mew Mew and Mermaid Melody: Pitchi Pitchi Pitchi. Another too, I like manga, but I enjoy anime a bit more mainly because I get bored reading too much XD
Anime and Manga Preferences:
I like comedy, romance, drama, action, psychological, fantasy, and science fiction. Then again though, I guess it doesn't matter when it comes down to it. I enjoy lots of other genres as long as that anime/manga is good.
i love english dubs, yes i said it, problem? but before you flame me, i also like subs as well. but still, dubs > subs
