| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Pretty epic action, I like how this show has slowly built the grand scale over the course of 30+ episodes. I also like the subtle way they've introduced telekentic type powers, it gives the show a nice extra spark. This Lalah character is interesting though I dont know how much they can do with her with only 7 episodes left, although Mobile Suit Gundam has shown itself to have a quick pace and not waste screentime, so I'm not worried. |

| All right, after revisiting the epic slap, then watching episode 36, I have to ask: WHERE THE HELL DID THE WHOLE MIRAI/SLEGGAR ROMANCE COME FROM????? I mean, seriously. Was she just rebounding from her old boyfriend or what? It made no sense to me whatsoever, and was just a lame foreshadowing of Sleggar's eventual demise. Maybe I missed something somewhere, but it seems Mirai's had the hots for just about every male on White Base. |

| Can't really blame Mirai for choosing the dashing soldier over her old boyfriend, but still... Might I say it's about time that Zeon produced a decent Mobile Armor? I'm thinking Gundam won't be able to swat those things down like it's been doing to everything else they've come up with. |

| It's the old chicks dig bad boys trope. Yeah it came out of left field but it's not surprising that she'd crush on a strong man like Sleggar right after her fiance let her down. That shit happens irl all the time. I agree that this arc has had the most awesome battles of the series so far. |

| I always thought that Mirai has the hots for Bright, but seriously Slagger? That slap was more impressive than I had thought.... Pretty short love triangle, Bright made it pretty obvious, that he likes Mirai here~ Epic battle with the Big Zam, though still not effective against Gundam~ Who would have thought this.... |

| The romance was...just awful. I sure hope Tomino doesn't ever get the idea to do a romance series or something as this was just ridiculous. When Bright said something like "I know how you feel about him" I was like..."how!!!?". Maybe Mirai is just a masochist or something... Otherwise, the episode was much more effective on the Zeon side of things and the battle was pretty cool. But, with some proper development between Mirai and Sleggar this could have been something great. Hopefully Origins will fix this. |

| Whoa, what. Mirai and...Sleggar? I kept putting her with Bright in my head even though she had that weird BF guy. But Sleggar...? I am so confused. Sleggar hits on girls a lot, but he can't be serious enough to randomly propose to a random girl who has never even given an indication of appreciating his passes. and so totally have her agreeing. What is happening. Oh wait! Nevermind! Sleggar's dead. Problem solved. Was that placed there to give Mirai an episode ending to cry through? So many deaths I could care less about on this show... NFH said: Kimura said: When I first saw her, I sincerely thought she was going to be one of the background characters who will barely had any lines, but who would had guessed she will be the one who will "awaken" the most amorous passions out of all the characters... LOL, me, too! She has such a bland and uninteresting character design (i.e., generic brunette woman #003). I'm not saying that all major female characters have to sleep in their makeup, but they usually have a memorable appearance at least. '79 art and animation, right? |

| Nice battle. Even Zeon got some kills. Previously they have just been screaming while Gundam facerolls over them. I wonder if Sleggar is dead. He was ejected out of cockpit but he had his space suit on so maybe some Zeon soldier grabbed him as a prisoner... There was sad music in the end so it is pretty unlikely. That romance was horrible and so many death flags were thrown... |

| Mirai was a bitch to go to Sleggar just after Bright confessed. Still, it's sad to see Slegga go like that, I'd have liked to know him better. I have to mention again how powerful Amuro is now, in the first half of the series and up to the 28-30 episode, killing an enemy MS took a few minutes and now the Gundam is able to 1-hit-KO them, hell even Kai is doing it! Dozle died like a true soldier, that was an awesome death. I'd also have loved to know him better, just like with Garma in the first episodes. |
| the death flags in this series are among the worst ive ever seen, its way too obvious when someone would die that being said pretty strong episode, action was very good and amuro going into rage mode after slegger died was epic |

| Amazing episode, but yeah the romance between Mirai and Sleggar came out of nowhere O___O Seriously!?!?! I was checking to see if i've got the right episode. And please tell me this isn't how they did it on the manga? At least they added new scenes in the recap movies right?? As people said, Tomino did had to cancel the series early so i'm guess he and his team was preparing a romance between Mirai and Sleggar(after the "Bright Slapped" incident). I mean even Bright knows Mirai loved someone, but he says he'll always be there for her(BRIGHT damn you!!!!) Moral of the story, if you "Bright Slap" someone, they are surely bound to fall in love with you :P Dozzle Zabi's attacks were random as well. He's just there on Big Zam out of nowhere attacking everyone instead of showing him getting to the mobile weapon. Seems Amuro is being haunted for some reason, could this be the side effects of his evolution? The Terror of war?? And yes Sleggar's death can be seen the moment he look tired on his suit and gave his mother's ring to Mirai. Man they really should have spend 2-3 episodes on this for Mirai. They could have at least shown his aircraft explode instead of a still image and he's gone now. The way Amuro killed the Big Zam, i could see how Gundam 00 took the same moves from this scene. For those who watched the last episode of the first season of Gundam 00. You'll definitely notice how Setsuna did the same move Amuro did here. That song is lovely as hell, but i just couldn't be emotional due to awkward way of handling Mirai and Sleggar : Now we only have 7 episodes left. Definitely gonna finish this now! |

| Sleggar's death was super telegraphed, It was almost impossible not to expect it after he gave that ring to Mirai. Also, Mirai's relationship with Sleggar kind of came out of left field... Also, Sleggar was a total jerk and I'm glad to see him go. Even so, I think the moment afterwards, where Mirai is grieving over him, and that somber music plays, and we see the aftermath of everyone on the ship... is probably my favorite scene of the whole series thus far. It's just so well done, and really gives you that special, melodramatic feeling. It's hard to describe, exactly... but you guys know the feeling I'm talking about, right? |

Either way *writes in notepad: slapping women makes them love you*, I'm learning a lot from this anime! :D It was too bad that Char didn't have anything to do with Dozle's demise. I was hoping he'd be the one to deal with the entire Zabi family, but I guess not. Lastly: Who decided to call this weapon the "Solar system"? I mean, I understand why it's named like that, but isn't it a tiny bit confusing? XP Aim the Solar System! No, not that Solar System, the other one! |

| Wait, so you're telling me that if I go around slapping women, I'll suddenly get a harem? That was really awful. The "romance" came out of nowhere, and they were practically dropping anvils in foreshadowing Sleggar's death. I liked the development with the Zeon commander's family much more. The Big Zam was an incredible Mobile Suit too, fitting for such a late episode in the series. |
