Rec Club Summer Challenge 2023 – Road Trip! July 2nd – July 29th Greetings all! Welcome back to a summer-ful-istic theme challenge! Weather is getting warmer the past few years. Too warm in fact. Better stay inside and pump the air conditioner up. While isolating yourself from the blazing temperatures, it’s a good time as any to catch up on some anime! This challenge is set-up like a “road trip”. Starting from the top of the map and going down, each space on the map is a stop, and you have to watch/read a title labeled on the stop. For those that don’t have a lot of time and want to make a quick drive, get through 3 free titles with the First Gear goal. Those itching for a little more can go through an additional 4 challenge titles with the Cruise Control goal. Or perhaps if you seek something more challenging but scenic, go through an additional 5 advanced titles and stop at the Manual Transmission goal! HOW TO PLAY - Start at Stop 1, and follow each stop in sequential order. - Any anime format (TV series, movie, OVA, ONA, etc.) and manga format (manga, novel, one-shot, 4koma, etc.) are permitted, as long as the title follows the stop/space specifications. - You must completely watch/read the title to count for completing the spot. Rewatching an anime and rereading a manga are permitted. Currently airing and ongoing anime or manga are not permitted. - The title must be started and finished for this challenge. Rewatching and rereading is allowed. - In your post, include your MyAnimeList profile. For each stop, post a link to the title you watched/read for the stop, as well as inputting any additional information required for the stop. Goal 1: First Gear Stops 1-3: Watch or read any title of your choice Goal 2: Cruise Control Complete all the stops listed in First Gear (Goal 1), and: Stop 4: Watch/read a Popular title (score greater than 7.80 or Popularity # less than 2000) Stop 5: Watch/read a title from your favorite genre Stop 6: Watch/read a title that first released before 2013 Stop 7: Rewatch or reread a title you’ve previously completed Goal 3: Manual Transmission Complete all the stops listed in First Gear (Goal 1) and Cruise Control (Goal 2), and: Stop 8: Watch/read a title with less than 5000 members Stop 9: Watch/read a title with a score less than 7.00 Stop 10: Watch an anime with 24+ episodes Stop 11: Read a manga with 6+ volumes Stop 12: Watch/read a title recommended to you (optional: you can mention your friend’s name, an username, or why you were recommended the title in the notes.) Choose a goal above and get watching/reading! Use the picture in the spoiler below for reference. Complete this challenge by completing any goal of your choice! You'll also be added to the Completed Entries list below if you complete at least Stop 1. TO PARTICIPATE: Make a post that includes a link to your MAL profile and a list of anime/manga titles you completed for this challenge. Here’s a template you can use for your post in the spoiler below. Feel free to edit the template to whichever goal you choose, or however you want to decorate it. Feel free to start the challenge at any time, but the event ends on July 29th! So be sure to get your post and list in before the end of the session! | @FakeNameOF Quick question: Fate Strange Fate Whispers of Dawn was a single 55 minute “Special” episode in that serves as a prequel ti an upcoming series, debut date unknown. It has it’s own separate entry on MAL & aired on 07/02/2023. Does it count for this challenge? |
