| I was looking at the code and wanted to know why it was failing (it looked like it should have worked). I figured it out. The offending code is in the success method of the ajax call in check_url_post The variable "imgObj" that is used in the load function gets changed to the last img in the list by the time the image actually loads. The way to fix it is to re-get the imgObj in error and load. This made it work: Now that I have posted this, MAL has no excuse to not get this fixed. Time for a rant... url_check.php WTF is this? If you are going to check image URLs server side, DO IT SERVER SIDE. Not in a separate request that takes time and bandwidth to send all image URLs back to the server. This is just stupid. I can understand loading images in the background with javascript to avoid http login prompts in firefox, but this url_check thing is pure idiocy. | Why does this not surprise me? Since I've joined in 2012, there has been no real new feature. More and more things have been breaking ever since, and the repairs take longer and longer. I don't want to say this, and I definitely don't want it to be true, but I'll be looking at alternatives (or at least backups) for MAL, such as Anime-Planet, Hummingbird or AniList. --Enough ranting, back to anime! |

| First we got banned from MAL than it took 1 week to get unbanned and since Friday we can't let the users login through the API because the new security updates. We used these past weeks more than 4 workarounds to let users use MAL. Thanks MAL... why is there a white list if we keep getting banned and blocked? |

With all due respect, in your position as a site administrator and mod, you ppl should not "find out" about this along with the community members. Don't you check what Crave-tan idiots sends to you? Nobody asks them what have they done or what is included in this "update"?? It's almost tradition here at MAL for us users to endure months (or years) of debugging because nobody checks the damn patch before uploading it. You always says to us that mods and The MAL Staff can't tend to our requests because "it's up to Crave" but when Crave finally comes into play, they just mess stuff up. I guess it's time to check that contract, is it not? |
