| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- don't really like the artwork, the transitions are sloppy, the voice acting seemed uninspired, and i didn't think much of the dress. if this doesn't get better soon i'll probably drop it. |
| Ah yes, the old 'person passes out and we take them back to our place instead of a hospital' routine. Quickly followed by the 'person runs away from someone but drops object that will identify their location' trick. Never a good sign to see this all in the first episode alone. Jeez. Great animation though, love the style, if not the characters and their culture, which I find all too boring in real life. |

| The characters are interesting, the animation is different from what I usually watch but I'm definately going to watch it. I didn't think too much of the dress either, but the shows' style in general looked amazing. I agree with Cihan, the typicals in various anime...but other than that and the scene transitions, things look great! c: |

| I also like the first episode. I love the characters,animations and background which is real(true photos of Tokyo). Maybe the idea of anime's plot isn't very original but I'm sure that this fact won't disturb in watching. |
| Well it stayed pretty damn true to the manga and I'm loving it so far. Miwako is so cute! I think they got her right down to a tee. I also like the fact that they didn't make Yukari too over the top, she seemed really normal which is the view I got from the manga anyway so I have no problem with her voice acting. Isabella surprised me. I love him/her in anime form. Style of animation is top notch although doesn't exactly stay as true to Yazawa's style as I'd have liked it still suits the whole modern, fashionable and classy atmosphere that it's trying to convey. Edit: Franz Ferdinand doing the ED is EPIC. That was an awesome surprise, I was singing along xD |

| You're kidding? Ai Yazawa + Josei is a must. But its for certain; the animation looks choppy sometimes and they focus too much on their faces, the plot looks interesting and the characters as well. Arashi reminds me of Nobu from NANA. Looks promising, I'm already liking it. |

| Paradise Kiss was my favorite manga back in high school. It's been a while since I've read it but I don't like the directing and I don't like the voices in the anime. Other than that, I'm excited to keep watching this. I wasn't bored. |

| I accidentally watched the 11th episode instead of the 1st episode first, kinda ruined the show for me. Oh well -_- Anyway, I think the 1st episode was pretty good! It gives off a very alt vibe that I'm loving. The OP and ED were great, all the characters and designs are really pretty (as expected of Madhouse), and the story looks like it could go in a great direction. I'm quite curious to see how it develops. Only thing that I didn't like was Caroline's voice. Oh my god. |
| i definitely agree with veronica here! the animation in this anime is truly one of a kind. with all the nana comparisons it definitely inspires me to see that show. as for the story so far it is slightly cliche but meh...i could use the break from the typical anime that's all about action.so far i can dig it! |
| Agree with Chi^^ The tricks they used to lure her in, and giving her the notebook after she had a deep breath of the fashion biz...it was a tad over-played. After watching NANA, I will probably not enjoy as much .. as it's going to be difficult to not compare the two. -REN'S LOCKET<3 I MEAN, SID'S LOCKET!!!! AHHK, I wonder who locked his heart up? xD |
| I guess everyone has a different type of animation they like, I have to agree with Mystere, I don't like it that much, I didn't like it in NANA either. I liked the old hairstyle of the girl a lot more though.. xD but I'll keep watching it. |

It was boring at some parts, and I agree with the OP that the voice acting seemed very uninspired. The dialogue seemed a bit unnatural in some parts, too. Nevertheless, it seemed interesting enough so I guess I'll stick to watching. |

| Pretty interesting start I must say, the concept and characters seem rather interesting and the Art has quite an unique touch as well! So well let's see what this show has to offer us! But well I sure like it already! Lol that sure is a crazy ED! |

| I don't like the art too. I'm not talking about general characters design, but how they applied a make-up for example. It looks weird. Another problem is chibi forms on funny scenes. I HATE that. It works ok in Manga, not in anime :/ And she looked much better before cutting her hair. Actually she looks ugly with cut bangs OP song is nice, but I don't like ED at all. |

| Wow that voice acting was bad. It sounded so unnatural (I'm talking about the japanese audio...) It certainly had a unique art style. That's really about all I can say about it. I didn't really like it. It wasn't terrible though. |
