 Comic Natalie announced that the manga Bungou Stray Dogs will receive an anime adaptation in 2016. The anime's official site also revealed that Takuya Igarashi (Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha) will direct the work, while Yoji Enokido (Top wo Nerae 2! Diebuster) will be in charge of the screenplay. Animation production will be done by studio Bones.Bungou Stray Dogs is a manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Harukawa35. It has been serialized in Young Ace since 2012, and there are currently seven volumes in print, with the eighth to be published on September 4. The seventh manga volume has sold a cumulative 97,199 copies as of its third week on Oricon's weekly rankings. Synopsis Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. While he is standing by a river, on the brink of starvation, he rescues a man whimsically attempting suicide. That man is Dazai Osamu, and he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency. They have supernatural powers and deal with cases that are too dangerous for the police or the military. They're tracking down a tiger that has appeared in the area recently, around the time Atsushi came to the area. The tiger seems to have a connection to Atsushi, and by the time the case is solved, it is clear that Atsushi's future will involve much more of Dazai and the rest of the detectives! | O~h! I'm happy for the mangaka (edit: mainly meant the one in charge of the art)! So many anime adaptions of works I know (→ going to watch), looks like I'll be unusually busy in the future, haha. (Edit: And now that I think about it, there appear to be more developments for mystery-themed works nowadays. Someone else had pointed this out before this announcement and now I cannot help but agree.) |

| Read a few chapters of this a while back, noticed absolutely no signs of this so called "obvious fujoshi-bait" everyone keeps complaining about. Seemed to have a decent amount of action, instead. | Been reading the manga for quite some time and honestly it's nothing special. It's basically a huge lump of shounen cliches with authors' names tacked on, which retains very little of their unique traits albeit just some little superficials here and there. On the other hand, the artwork is beautiful and very pleasing to look at. And while the mysteries occured in the series are nothing to write home about, the characters' interactions while solving them are more than enough to make up for it. Overall not bad, but not very good either. Just enough to make for a decent time waster. Also, kudos for BONES for adapting this kind of stuff. They're one of reasons for anime's diversity nowadays. |

| Wow, all these ''fujoshibait' comments. People are so sensitive to this nowadays. As long as the yaoi is not canon & you don't read the doujins (why would you if you hate it?), then I don't really see why anyone should be bothered by it. |
