sigh, arakawa under the bridge is such a funny gag manga... it is a pity that the animation group is incapable of doing humor well....
They should have stuck with suspense like in Bakemonogatari... now the gags are poorly executed and many scenes are irrelevant. and while the voice acting is quite top-notch.. they blew the music. :( Pity, I was really looking forward to this release, then boom... >.>

As for last season I think it is funny that number one was not even on the expected lists... :P
IMO, last season was pretty weak...

We all have different tastes and likes on anime...I'm not the one you should ask. Check it out for yourself.

Looking at the list for Spring again, top 3 seems too expected, number 1 and 3 full of moe and 2, besides main female character having a look-a-like, is Key w/o KyoAni. Let's see...

perfect is never an option.

anyway the Expectation Winter Ranking does not have two season titles so it's a bit unfair.

Railgun 1st => wtf?
The next 5 are comprehensible. Finale below expectation, too.
Why ranked Hanamaru Youchien so high, when it merely sold 1k BDs?

Sadly, spring seems quite boring compared to that. There is Working!! and Arakawa...

Railgun number one, over Baka to Test, Dulalala, and Kimi ni Todoke.

Then why did Dulalala sell three times as much?

I am having a hard time holding my rage by the way.

But Kaichou wa Maid-sama! doesn't even feature, but it's a pretty safe bet to say it will feature by the end of the season if something disappoints (possibly Hakuouki given DEEN's track record of VN adaptations).

It's an online poll. Trolls and fanboys will be trolls and fanboys. Also, judging by the choices in anime, I think more males voted than females, and DRRR! would be top without a doubt if it was mostly females who were polling. That's not to say a lot of male fans don't enjoy it, but female viewers would be less interested in anime like Railgun.

Both sets of data are fan votes. It just shows how bad or good we are at knowing what we really want beforehand.

Railgun wasn't even all that great, from what I've seen (Although I still have a few episodes to watch before I finish it.), and Ladies vs. Butlers shouldn't be anywhere near that list.

It didn't. Unlike Durarara, Railgun is sold on both DVD and BD (the more popular format). Add the totals, and Railgun still sells better.

At any rate, there's no 1:1 correlation between reception and sales. With sales, it's a matter of what people want to collect.

I highly disagree. SHAFT is actually really good at doing those kind of acid trip series. I rather liked their interpretation, even though I've never read the manga for it, ever... :P

Raiilgun and K-On on top is just fail. >_> Working on 3rd?... wut is this idun..

try to understand the story and you'll know why. It's not really dull but I do prefer Katanagatari and Durarara to be the 1st & 2nd.

Anyway I kinda like these rankings. Only that why Ookami Kakushi was on the list?

No. It was already in Fall season. The list for the winter season (and actually for only anime that start in winter, not before). Hence two seasons.
