 Crunchyroll announced that they acquired the television version of the Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction anime movie on Monday. The television re-edit will span 18 episodes and include new scenes. Crunchyroll will release the episodes weekly beginning May 23 at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time (11:00 p.m. EDT) in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.Produced by Production +h., the first part of the two-part anime movie adaptation of Inio Asano's sci-fi drama manga premiered on March 22. The second part will open in theaters on May 24. Big Comic Spirits began serializing the manga in April 2014, which ended its eight-year serialization in February 2022. Shogakukan published the 12th and final volume the following March. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in July 2017 and released the 12th and final volume in April 2023. Synopsis As the world is threatened by the sudden appearance of a mysterious alien mothership, best friends Kadode Koyama and Oran "Ontan" Nakagawa carry on about their high school life. But as they grow up, they face existential questions, learning adulthood’s complexities and that the true threat may not be from above. | @malvarez1 Not only them, this is the third anime in the last couple of years, which is a TV version of an originally theatrical anime. There are probably even more of them, that is, this is a kind of reverse version of recap movies. |
