I don't discriminate when it comes to anime, I think most stuff is definitely worth a watch and that everyone deserves to like what they like even if its not my cup of tea.
For me I'd have to say I like everything that's unique/deep and or goes beyond the trope of standard high school romance in any way - not that there's anything wrong with the classics; some of my favourites are Love is war, Your lie in april, Fragrant flower, Bunny girl senpai, etc. And I think what they all have in common is one individual aspect that they lean into and do really well that sets them apart (be it plot, comedy, dynamic or anything else). I've been thinking about watching the Monogatari series lately. Other than that I want to dip my toes into shoujo ai too, as it's been peaking my interest for a bit (if anyone knows some good ones to start with def lmk). An anime I'd say I'm not a fan of is, for example, Don't toy with me, Nagatoro-san (as it really doesn't have that spark anywhere for me). However this is all just my opinion and I'm not trying to be objective with it at all.

As for Space Opera stuff, I never really had a proper experience with the genre as a whole, although I have been thinking about watching Cowboy Bebop for a while, as I've heard nothing but praise about it and how there really isn't anything else like it out there. I'm very open to recommendations on that front.

I'm no stranger to isekai too, I've watched some big ones that I've liked a lot so far, namely Re:zero, Mushoku and Tensura and I was thinking about watching Konosuba, TEIS and No game no life. Although I haven't gotten around to reading any LNs I know about Ascendance of a Bookworm too, I saw it while randomly browsing MAL and it's been in my PTW ever since. If what you say is true I think it would be a really cool watch and I might end up giving it a go :D

I really like anime and manga as a whole and I'd talk about it with anyone; I thought I had a pretty decent list before, but ever since I became active in the community I've been checking out people with these biiig lists that make mine feel small in comparison. I realised I'm just taking baby steps and there's so much more cool stuff to watch, if that makes sense.
Also sorry for this huge wall of text lol, I wanted to go over everything I was trying to say😅
That being said,
I want any recommendations! (thank you to everyone in advance)

@ygrec - is there a particular type of romance you like. For me, I prefer shoujo romance - and that includes shoujo romance that is labeled as shounen simply because it was published in Shounen Jump - LOL

For me, however, my favorite genre is Space / Space Opera, probably because I'm old school. The genre was huge when I was younger, but kinda dead now. I will admit, however, that I am an isekai fan, although with so much junk coming out of that genre, I've become really picky about what isekai I watch anymore.

And that brings me to what I'm looking forward to the most in 2026 - Ascendance of a Bookworm S4. It's one of my favorite LN series, and while the animation quality of the previous 3 seasons has been... sub-optimal, they got a new studio and I'm hoping for an improvement there.
