Wasn't gonna write a review for this one. Did it anyways. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Story: 9
Hamatora gets a 9 in my book. Maybe I'm a sucker for episodic animes with a hidden plot backbone (Akuma no Riddle was a personal favorite of mine in this category) but I really feel like Hamatora took its plot in the right direction. Some episodes seem fillerish or too forced, but then by the end you realize that the events of the episode connected back to the plot all along! The last episode left me needing more, and when I found Re:_Hamatora, I was incredibly disappointed in the quality of the read more

“All human beings can only perceive the world through the filter of their values. Mediocre values may be harmless, but they are also utterly worthless.” - Moral

Story (7/10)

Hamatora is the collective name of a group of detectives, who solve various cases in order to earn a living. Sounds rather standard, doesn’t it? Well, not exactly. All the members of Hamatora poses some superhuman power, be it incredible speed, or inhuman strength. These are known as ‘minimums’, rare innate abilities which only a small percentage of humans can use. Of course, regular citizens have no idea of existence of such individuals, in order to protect the read more

Alright, first review. Hopefully its not terrible

Story 8/10 - I really enjoyed the story of Hamatora. The mix super powered beings and a private eye agency was too perfect. The shortcomings of this show however come from the the episodic nature of the first couple of episodes and the lack of depth to the story. I felt that the story of Hamatora could have been developed alot more and was slightly disappointed.

Art 9/10 - The art of Hamatora is extremely colourful and compliments the powers of the MC quite well. I thoroughly enjoyed the animation but this could be quite distracting to some viewers.

Alright, first review. Anyways I felt the need to write this because this Anime is a hidden gem and it's also one of my favorites.

Story 7/10 - The plot had an interesting premise. People are born with super powers and they keep it hidden because they might get oppressed due to it. Hmm...sounds like X-Men. Anyways I don't know enough about X-Men to compare them further. The story starts out episodic with the Main Characters running a detective agency, doing whatever jobs they can to support themselves. All the while in the background the main plot slowly blooms until it matures and comes out. You read more

People with special abilities and groups performing missions. Not to mention all around action. Darker than Black is of course edgier and well, darker [no pun intended] but they have the same feel and pacing.

Super powers. Mystery. Witty. Each anime has these elements in spades. Intensity seems to be the main element though. I couldn't help but notice the similarity after the first two episodes. The darkened theme running through the background plot sets up the mood for future events and the protagonists both have sort of that "in your face" approach. If you've seen one, I definitely recommend the other if only for a comparison of the two.

Durarara has the same atmosphere and is also story about a mysterious city. All the characters have some relationship between them. Both are fun to watch!

Both antagonists want to change the world for the better.
Both antagonists have silver hair.
Both worlds have a system that separates "special" people from "normal" people.
Both animes deal with dark themes.
Both animes have awesome action scenes.

Both have the same, action and superpower genre.
Both involves people with powers who protects the weak.

One is a spin off from another anime while the other one has a season 2.
The leader and the most powerful one of the good guys is a guy, while in the other anime it's a girl who is the most powerful.

Similar vibe. Our main cast has a bar hangout just like in K. Gangs who possess supernatural powers. Power struggle with other gangs over territory. Lots of characters who are very close. Action packed and add some comedy from time to time. Talented voice actors can be heard in both series. For example Fukuyama Jun and many more.
