- Sudden development of superpowers in the world and it's effects.
- Superhero schools. Boku no Hero Academia is actually set in the school, whereas Hamatora is set after the protagonists have graduated from the school.
- Emphasise on 'quirks' and 'individuality' in relation to superpowers.
- Lots of action.
- Bright colours.
If you enjoy seeing regular people with super powers, living in a contemporary world, then both these shows should suffice. Oh, and be careful of their colour palettes - both these shows are very colourful. Especially Hamatora.
While Boku no Hero Acedemia (Eng: My Hero Acedemia) take place in a school setting unlike Hamatora, this series also revolves around a group of people with unique superpowers called "Quirks".
