Synopsis

There is Earth, our familiar world, and then there is the Black World, a parallel dimension that very few people are aware of. For centuries, a pact between the two worlds has been observed to maintain peace, and terms must be negotiated and renewed soon to continue relative harmony.

This time around, there is a militant faction that will stop at nothing to prevent the signing of a new treaty for inter-dimensional peace. Two agents of the elite organization known as the Black guards—defenders of the balance between the two worlds—are charged with ensuring the success of the treaty.

Director Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll) blends stylish eroticism, graphic horror and pulse-pounding action as these two race to consummate the peace treaty in time.

Wicked City is a stylish, well animated film that will have most viewers questioning what exactly fuels their love for anime as a whole. Regardless of if they liked the film or not. Mainly because it's an experience, so out there that it's really hard to pin down specifically what it's trying to be.

The films focus on psychological horror elements, and it's full embrace of sexual themes in conjunction with the horror aspects create a really interesting film that some will find excessive. And others will find fascinating.

The animation on display is smooth and appealing, with every creative choice feeling deliberate and calculated. ...

Mixed Feelings
Sexually-charged supernatural erotica, less horror than it is an exploitation of the female body for no apparent reason besides lust. Rather inconsistent in that regard, more explicit in nonconsensual scenes compared to the rest. It makes the claim of visual metaphors in association with spiritual drivel supposedly forming a bond representing peace between two races. Taki and Makie are part of a secret service protecting an emissary needed to finalize a centennial non-aggression treaty, disguising other elaborate conspiracies of unknown nature. Such events pave the way for sadomasochistic escapades of gratuitous gore and sex, usually with demonic women. At one point, it's unashamedly tentacle pornography, ...

Ok listen, it has great animation, good character and monster design, good voice acting, a killer soundtrack and a pretty good story (the end of the story was uhhh weird and definitely made for a certain audience) but I rated it low cause it is just rape porn!!! Omfg if only it was an actual series that wasn't just fucking rape hentai man. I watched it with a friend and we loved the story and REALLY liked the animation and soundtrack but omfg it was almost all porn and rape...

Spoilers up ahead from here.

I guess we should've known from the first scene being a ...
