Youjuu Toshi

Both share similar story line about demons from parallel dimension, trying to capture human world. Very similar atmosphere and, both are great work of Yoshiaki Kawajiri.  

Well-known controversial '80s OVAs from back then. They have demons, devils, naked ladies and a whole bunch of freaky moments for the older audience that likes to see similar movies with those elements. 

If you liked Wicked City but felt it was way too over the top with too much violence and erotism, Demon City Shinjuku works out in a similar fashion but taking itself more seriously in terms of plot and characters. It works the other way around if you come from Demon City Shinjuku but want something more provoking. Both are also made by Yoshiaki Kawajiri upon Hideyuki Kikuchi novels  

Both are based on novels from the same author, both are directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Both have a simple premise and flow, where humans must fight demons to reach a goal. Cool action with clean animation, gloomy atmosphere and great use of contrasting intense colors with shadows. 

Mild nudity, thugs, monsters - Akira is the more interesting of these two anime by far. Wether or not you enjoyed Wicked City or not. If you so much as consider watching Wicked city the Akira would be a great choice to watch. 

both are horror themed stories with moments of philosphy,action and how technology can go wrong as well too. 

WARNING, do not watch this if ur underaged or with you parents ,because both are just TERRIFYING, just the way i like it! as for the content, well its all here but really, DON'T watch this as an underage! 

Both are ultraviolent stories that focus around a character from the same species in this case would be demons hunting their own kind down just to keep the peace with humans and both have a dark visual style and atmosphere to them as well too.  

Similar gritty atmospheres and dark fantasy settings in dealing with humanoid monsters (vampires and demons respectively). These anime feature action-packed moments of violence and creepy imagery. However, 'Wicked City' is more sexually explicit and graphic. Interestingly, the rising tensions from the possible coexistence of humans and monsters is brought up in interesting ways; through the existence of D as a half-vampire hunter who feels like an outsider in both sides of his heritage, and in Maki and Takie cooperating for peace between their respective species. There are monstrous beings that become sympathetic and fall in love with a human partner that they wish to share their life with (i.e. Meier and Charlotte in 'Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust' vs. Maki and Takie in 'Wicked City'). read more
