I've seen a bit of gameplay of Legends Arceus. How has Knights of the Old Republic been so far for you? I've been hooked on Cyberpunk 2077 at the moment, especially with the recent release of Edgerunners.
You're welcome. There's no need to apologize because it's only fair as I tend to be late with replies as well. Few like strategy games nowadays. What games are you currently playing?
I haven't heard of the books you mentioned yet all three do sound quite interesting. I'll keep them in mind.
There are many games about this universe that aren't worth dwelling in, but it also depends on whenever you crave for more Warhammer 40k content. The games that I played and waiting for it's release are:
Dawn of War - Soulstorm
A top down strategy base-building that lets you play many different type of factions from Space Marines to Imperial Guards, Orks, Chaos Marines, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tau Empire, Necrons and the Sisters of Battle. The game that made me discover this universe. It's an old game that i grew up playing and a few do nowadays, especially RTS games.
A bit of gameplay to show you what the game looks like.
Space Marine
In this game you get to play a space marine and get up close and personal with the xenos. Three space marines that are tasked to exterminate the orks from a planet. This is a game I would recommend trying if you're in the hack and slash mood.
This is a fun video to watch about the game.
Space Marine 2
They announced Space Marine 2 and its against the Tyranids. If you like the first game, I believe this is going to be even better.
Trailer for the upcoming game.
Darktide
Another upcoming game that is a fun hack and slash but this time you're not a space marine. You're a penal trooper who thrown to fight against chaos cultists which seem to be corrupted by the chaos god Nurgle.
A cinematic trailer to understand what is going on
And a gameplay trailer to see how the gameplay is
Mechanicus
This is a turn-based strategy game that based in the lore where the Adeptus Mechanicus stumbled upon the Necrons and awakened them. I adore the setting of this game. The dialogue is giberish yet sound like they talk in binary and the soundtrack was spot on. The composer did an amazing job coming up with the perfect soundtrack that fits the Adeptus Mechanicus, with pipe organs that would play in churches and modern zynth tones and it fits so well with these zealots who worship the machine god.
The gameplay trailer
The gothic aesthetic and the monologue is a favorite of mine in this trailer
One of the soundtracks if you're interested in listening to it
A few games I enjoy playing but not sure if it's everyone's cup of tea.
I explored a bit about Stephen King and its universe and he indeed involved himself in alcoholic and drug abuse once he became a success. He personified his alcoholic part of him with the main villain of The Shining and personified his cocaine part with the villain from Misery. The abuse was so bad that he couldn't remember writing the book Cujo. However I quite like Cujo and the perspective of it. It's admirable how he was able to come up with such interesting concepts for horror. I'm not very intrigued by the supernatural side of his stories but Misery has piqued my interest and ended up watching a analysis of it and enjoyed it a lot. Having or developing psychological issues and finding bizarre ways to cope with them that an average man cannot comprehend to the point that you create own bizarre morality to survive, I find such stories fascinating. Which of Stephen King books have you read and currently reading?
And I hope the universe continues to captivate you as much as it did for me. I too do like to get immersed myself in these universes through games mostly. There are many games revolving around Warhammer 40k, yet only a few can capture that feeling, that immersion. I believe I only saw the two IT movies. I'm not familiar much with his universe other than him being involved in debauchery to come up with stories and it also including a degree of debauchery in his stories as well. Is that right or did I misheard? What do you think of Stephen Kings universe so far?
That link and the second part are the best examples I found to understand what Warhammer 40k is. The universe is indeed bloated with lore that its overwhelming and confusing for those who aren't familiar with it. This universe has many unique factions with its own lore you can delve and sympathize. I'm glad you're intrigued by it. It's also one of my favorite universes to explore and immerse myself a bit whenever I'm in the mood. I hope you enjoy it whenever you intend to explore it.
That's good. My schedule used to be all over the place and my head feeling like mush. I thought it was age but it was just the lack of time management. The 5th episode did give me a good impression story wise as well. Last time I saw Selena Gomez perform is when I used to be a teen watching Wizards of Waverly Place. I didn't know she is still performing. If you'd like to know about Warhammer 40k, this video gives you a good idea what it is about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCGKPRiJp84
Goodluck with your time management. The first episode of Visions caught my attention and my favorite so far. Which one is yours? I was able to watch a few episodes of Peaky Blinders and its excellent. I don't normally watch series. How about you? Warhammer 40k is tabletop game with a vast lore. A dark, grim and nihilistic universe filled with nothing but war against different factions and races that takes place in the year 40k.
I used to feel that way with games, but now it has evolved into the opposite. It was become more of a time management problem and what to prioritize first. Besides work, I like to prioritize my workout next and then games. A show has to really impress me with its first impression for me to watch it. I really like Star Wars Vision so far and its unique visuals and concepts each studio is going with. Other than anime, I really want to try watching Peaky Blinders whenever I can. Do you know the show?
Thrawn book? It's admirable how much lore you're reading for the Star Wars universe.
Other than the Star Wars universe, I'm also a big fan of the Warhammer 40k Universe. I have to check if I can get my hands on the Necron codex as it simply looks amazing! Do you know of Warhammer 40k?
Thank you very much! My patience has finally paid off.
I binge watched everything Berserk related and binge read the manga when I first discovered it. It's one of my favorites and few that made me watch and read everything of a show in a short period of time.
