I'm Purple, the man who'll become the King of the Doujin Players!
My YouTube Channel, VioletHatPurple - Come check out my YouTube channel! I do my best to post at least 1 video per month (Nowadays, though, it could take me a bit longer than that, because the games I've been doing are kinda getting harder and harder, so that's why)!
As of December 28th, 2020, I got my 1st ever 2-ALL of Strikers 1945 II with the F5U Flying Pancake! =D All of this, and of course, I am a Touhou Player that started out STGs/Shmups as a Touhou Player. ;-) The video of it is in my YouTube channel! You can check it out by clicking the link above!
My Twitter Account, VioletHatPurple - I occasionally post news about whatever game I'm working on from time-to-time, and at a certain point, I will talk about other stuff as well there!
My Doujin and Arcade Shmup 1cc List Blog - These are all the games I have done so far in the STG/Shmup genre, if you would like to know what games I have done so far! I started out playing STG/Shmup games with Touhou.
Feel free to leave a comment here in my profile page, if you like!
If you're interested in knowing a little bit about me and anime watching, click the spoiler below (You did take the time to come to my profile, so I'll give you the option to let you in on a few tidbits about myself like this):
So, you're interested in knowing something about me... Alright, where do I start... I currently don't have any fancy pictures or colorful stuff to make this look better, so bear with me here...
If you happen to be curious about how long I've known about anime, I'll start with this bit: I've watched anime since the late 90s as a little kid, though I didn't know of the word anime until 2002 through Inuyasha back when I was 10. Yes, indeed, I am one of those early 90s kids/babies you probably heard so much about, as if my birthday & birth year didn't already indicate this.
Which other thing could I say, concerning that... My birthday falls under the astrological sign of Virgo (More specifically, under Virgo I: The week of the System Builders). Okay, next thing...
I finished High School in June 2010. I finished my undergrad at a University in Spring 2016.
Well, chances are, you already know I play video games a lot, since, by finding me here, you probably know of the video game stuff I do. I guess I'll throw in this extra little detail... I've been playing video games since I was 3 - 4 years old. On to a little bit more about me and anime watching...
I've only recently really gotten my anime watching habit rehabilitated back to me (It's been a long process, starting from late 2014 (There was a time, where I very nearly lost my anime watching habit permanently)), so due to that, I have a way higher appreciation of anime in-general, to where I don't take it for granted, unlike how most people do these days.
I might not have too much to say about anime in-general, since I've got quite a lot of anime I have to catch up on (I sure missed out on quite a lot, not to mention the old promises I made to certain friends of mine to watch certain anime I haven't gotten to yet even after several years, and then there's still more). I am trying to catch up, though, really! I'm open to lots of anime out there!
As it is, I just use this website mainly to update my list and that's it, but if you want to talk with me about, I don't know, anime, for example, then yeah, sure thing! =) I might be more talkative about games, if I had to say so myself, so you can try to talk to me about those, for sure! =D I definitely do want to meet new people here in this site, like what I used to do a long time ago! =) I just... don't know how to do it, though, since I've been keeping to myself for quite a long time, but I want to go meet new people, for sure!
A few other brief notes about me:
Other games I play, besides shmups:
There's plenty of Role-Playing Games (RPGs), Adventure games, and platform games to play, and I should really go to properly learn fighting games at some point, really. I also plan to get into rhythm games pretty soon, as well.
I'm also recently looking to learn to play Mahjong (Particularly, I'm looking to learn to play both Japanese Riichi Mahjong (I'm looking to learn this one first out of the two Mahjong variants I'm interested in learning how to play) and MCR/Chinese Official and Official International Rules Mahjong (The other variant I'm interested in learning how to play after I learn Riichi Mahjong)).
Other things I like to do, besides play games:
I do like to draw pretty often, as well as writing. I'll probably add more to this at some point.
I also recently got into fruit & vegetable gardening, as of May of 2020. I'm trying to start not just a vegetable & fruit garden, but I'm also doing both a herb garden and a medicinal herb garden as well.
Err... I'll put more things here in due time! I only started putting things in the about me section here, so I'll see what to do here at some point! I'm kind of not sure what I should put here, so yeah. I mainly use this website just to keep track of what anime I've been watching, since I watch a bit of anime in-between gaming sessions (I'm also no good at writing about me's, so yeah :P). Other than that, I don't use here for much else, at least for now, so I'll try to think of something else to do here sometime. ^^;;
Also, yeah, by the way, I do accept all friend requests (even random ones), so yeah, if you want to send me one and/or talk with me, then by all means, try me! I'm always open to meeting new people! =)
2-all with a respectable score, no less! Great job! so my friend, what is next? Are you going to try pushing your score higher, or try your hand at a different game?
Hey thanks for wishing me a happy birthday. I hope you reach a score you're happy with while 2-alling in the same run. DOJBL is a great game and a great choice to play! I've hardly touched any STG besides Double Spoiler this year and I've made some good progress there, but about a week ago I started playing EoSD for LNN goal and got a 1MNB so far. Let's work hard together!
Hey just wanted to give you an update, my attempt to get back into STG has been going pretty well. I got a new hi-score in Batsugun earlier this month (not quite reached my goal yet, but getting close) and last night I broke 10m in Otomedius X. I've been wanting to do a 10m run of an infinite looping game for years so that felt good to finally get (even if the run was quite sloppy) I'm in the middle of recording the run now & it's gonna be a long one w. I reached 10m in 4-2 & ended the run in 4-3 so it'll be around 2 hours, my longest run by far. There's a few other loopers I want to do aswell.
Also I decided not to go with the name change in the end.
Anyway how has your progress been going with DOJBL? You seemed to be getting close.
Congrats on 1b, I know you'll get the 2-ALL eventually, just gotta get "the run"
Japan was amazing definitely plan on going again. Seeing so many skilled players at hey made me motivated to get serious about STG again, though I feel like I want a completely fresh start with the genre but I'm not sure how, I was thinking of playing under a different name or something but not sure yet. It would also be fun to rival the me of a few years ago & try to beat my old scores in the games I'm still interested in.
I was always against save states & stuff before but having a job & way less free time now, it would be hard to make progress without such things, which is another reason I was thinking of playing under a different name. New name + play-style would feel like a fresh start if that makes sense idk w.
Anyway good luck with the 2-ALL, I look forward to seeing you triumph over Hibachi ^_^
Well good luck watching all those shows you have on plan to watch. Mine just keeps growing every time I complete something.
Also i do believe I am friends with Lord_Sithis.
Hey, nice to meet you as well. I like your list.
As of how I found you, I think I saw you comment on one of my friends profile, forgot which one though. Btw I'm barely active in forums and clubs as well. =)
Nice sounds like you're making some great progress, keep this up you'll be beating naut's score by the time you get the 2-ALL.
I've thought about going back to Sengoku Ace for my first 2-ALL, it's an easier game I know but I just find it really fun, I'm undecided though. If I go for the 2-ALL in Under Defeat it will take me a long time, especially since my main focus is rhythm games, but it will be a more satisfying one.
No I'm not in Japan yet, I fly on Monday night & arrive Wednesday morning, there's a few games I want to keep an eye out for while I'm over there.
Also thinking about practicing Mushi original mode again, don't have any goals in mind, it would just be nice to be able to get a good run if I find a cab while in Japan. Sadly I hear Batsugun cabs are pretty rare :<
Batsugun I've been playing on & off (mostly off :<) for years I have all the strats to do it, I just need to keep playing to get the run (no more year long breaks w).
Under defeat I'm new to & learning the tilt shot mechanic is proving difficult, but I think once I get the hang of that I'll make some nice progress. I really want to get the dreamcast version, need to look out for a copy while I'm in japan (ebay prices are ridiculous :<).
I know what you mean it's nice to get a good score on your first clear of a game you've worked hard on, mine usually wind up being worse than usual though w. Also just realized if I stick with Under Defeat it will be my first arcade 2-ALL as well w.

Thanks!
I was super busy with work over xmas sadly, but I'm starting to get time to play again now. Currently busy learning to play the new monster hunter
Also I decided not to go with the name change in the end.
