I feel like I'm in the minority when it comes to BNHA season 3, it's nice to see a review that feels the same way!

in terms of shounen which anime is better haikyuu or bnha?
just want to know your opinion

You sir, have good taste. Glad to see I’m not the only one that thinks the Akame ga Kill anime was bad.

Makes sense, actually my first BnHA review was my failed attempt at explaining what I don't like with the series so far, that being said, that review of mine was crap and my new one is the result of my thinking on BnHA for several months. I will need to check out your SAO review, since it is probably a super fun read. My reviews only get good following Hidamari Sketch.

I have a lot of time on my hands, also I know Mother's Basement. I actually reference one of his BnHA videos in my review. That being said, I am a really fast typer as well. I think I finished the review in like 8 hours, and I was on and off writing it.

Ah sorry I got a little lost. Hataraku Saibou is made by the same studio as Jojo? That is a bit surprising actually. I disagree with Karhu's opinions because all of his complaints aren't really well reasoned. I guess that is what happens when the review is less than 1000 words. If you want to read my complaints regarding BnHA, I would suggest reading my 10'000 word review for S3. But then again, it is pretty long, so you don't have to.

Gurren Lagann is a classic, so I would suggest watching that before Made in Abyss if you decide to watch it.

I like to think I am no longer a casual watcher, but at the same time, I tend to not watch seasonal anime because I want to make sure what I watch is something up my ally. So right now, I am waiting a few weeks until I learn what is popular this season. It looks like I will eventually have to watch Hataraku Saibou, because everyone has said it's good. But at the moment, I am just watching Naruto Shippuden and random things off of my watch list, like Mazinkaiser. I love super robot shows, so if there was something like that this season, then I would watch it.

I also love shounen shows, but I could never get too into Food Wars like a lot of people could. It is just not my thing, that being said, I might watch the last two seasons because I have been told the conflict in both of those seasons evolve beyond what happened in season 1 & 2. I am watching BnHA right now as well, and I became interested in talking to you because we have such differing opinions on the series. You have the most popular positive review for S3 so far, whereas I have the second most popular negative review for S3. That being said, I think your review is better than Karhu (I am not sure what his username is) who has the most popular negative review for the series.
WeeabooColin Jul 10, 1:34 PM
Gotcha gotcha, that is fair enough point and is probably true. Are you planning on doing any new reviews soon?
WeeabooColin Jul 10, 1:21 PM
Then again, like you said, to each their own. What are you watching this season?
WeeabooColin Jul 10, 12:54 PM
I think you are totally wrong with the Iyashikei statement, because the goal of a iyashikei is to illicit certain emotions, and they have plenty of depth in their narrative. Aria, Amanchu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, and Haibane Renmei are all considered anime classics in the genre and if not anime as a whole because of their narrative depth. The hyper focus on presentation is just the means for executing such ideas, instead of using dialouge. I think it is a more subtle experience, but it is one that has a very unique narrative depth that isn't present in a lot of shows that just say it's themes to the audience.

Also I haven't seen Inuyashiki and I dropped Kuzo no Honkai within a episode, but the direction of Berserk the original is very thoughtful. Sure by today's standards the animation is a bit dated, but the direction, presentation, and art style were all purposely chosen because it wants to convey a specific emotional core. Presentation is as important as themes when it comes conveying ideas.
WeeabooColin Jul 7, 6:06 AM
Could you give me a example of a show that fails at presentation but succeeds in narrative? I also think the existence of the Iyashikei genre more or less proves that presentation could carry a show.
WeeabooColin Jul 5, 4:32 PM
So do you have to break out a calculator whenever you finish a anime to decide what score you should give a show? Also why don't you count sound and animation as important as other aspects of a show, isn't presentation and direction an important aspect to pretty much every anime? Anyways, I am glad to see another talented reviewer.
