Top 5 - Favorite Anime (lol don't read this, it's super old. I need to update)
1- Hunter x Hunter
Hunter x Hunter (2011) is definitely my favorite anime. I followed it throughout its airing time (around 4 years) since it premiered in 2011. The 2011 remake is my personal best adaptation of the manga.
When we talk about Hunter x Hunter, we're talking about a shonen sure unlike any shonen you've ever seen, and capable of breaking any standard. There isn't something like "nakama power" and the fights aren't extremely long, they focus on the strategy and practical matter, still managing to be thoughtful and chilling.
Speaking now of the characters. The early start of this series can look misleading, with it's lighthearted atmosphere, directing you to believe it's a kid's show, but the plot begins to unravel to more mature stuff pretty quickly. The villains are wonderful, one of my favorite antagonist casts in anime.
Plot-wise, the goals are already established in the first episodes and they will never be forgotten. The anime and its arcs are all created to guide the main cast to achieve their goals. Reaching the York Shin arc it's a starting point for happiness and then, Chimera Ants arc becomes the culmination of character development.
The animation is stunning. Madhouse really outdid itself.
A common con that most fans really talk about is the issue of misplacement of soundtracks. May sound clutter sometimes, a lot of repetition and something. But for me, the OSTs are particularly very beautiful and exciting. Go listen to "Emperor Time","Requiem Aranea","Meimou", "Mystic Land", "Riot", "Rasetsu" or "Hyori Ittai - Lamento for piano". They are beautiful and useful to set the mood perfectly. Openings and Endings can start to bore after loads of episode listening to the same beats, however they're pretty good as well.
And here a great OST for your consideration.
2- FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist was one of my few cases of binge-watching. I'm not easily to addict and watch something nonstop - I honestly wouldn't like to be. I prefer to do it slowly, feeling the pleasure of watching an anime that I like, but with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, it was difficult.
This is the anime that I put closer to Hunter x Hunter, so if you liked Hunter x Hunter, I suggest you give FMAB a try. Both are very unusual shonens that were done right.
Great characters, great plot, great soundtracks and great animation. The only thing that really differs from Hunter x Hunter is the storyline. In Hunter x Hunter, the story is divided into arcs and thus develops. In FullMetal it follows a plot, connecting pieces, to form a major really interesting story. And a great outcome.
Oh, and about the soundtrack. Make your own conclusions:
3- Code Geass
What to say about Code Geass...? The first time I tried to watch, I ended up leaving on-hold for a long time (6 months). When I retried, I had to do from the beginning, this is evidences the amount of detail in this work. The second time was much better attended. This time I didn't stop, and I recommend you to not stop either.
A magnificent plot, like everything Death Note couldn't be, and everything it could, but better.
The reality of Code Geass takes place in two different ways. One is the peaceful life of a student and his colleagues, the other a natural leader. I especially liked this dychotomy.
Characters: I'd say the characters are great. However, Lelouch is something else. The protagonist. He is the one who succeeds, as I said before, between two realities, and it changes his personality too. He is gentle, calm and as normal as any teenager in school time. However he can also be cold, autoritarian and intelligent during his conflict with the enemy army.
On the other side we have Suzaku, I personally do not like him, I understand his relevance to the dynamic of this story, however. I just do not like his personality, and huge loyalty to the army that he should hate. But this is a great development for him in a quite unique way.
Lelouch is for Suzaku like Kira is to L.
If you're looking for an entertaining and well planned, I definitely recommend Code Geass. It's pretty enjoyable.
Olá, eu vi que está participando do AWC desse ano e o seu post lá está meio confuso. Você colocou a cor do assistindo em todos os itens, inclusive os que você já completou.
No problem. Thanks for sending it :) And for that message too. People usually are sending random FR and then nothing. If you want to talk feel free to do so :) I'm a bit busy, but I will always reply. It may be a little late though. I won't look into your profile for now, so you can tell me anything you want about yourself :)
Okay, time to go to work. See ya.
Speaking of Kyofushimi, are you watching Yowapeda season 3?? A new member of KyoFushimi is being introduced this season and he's...odd to say the least haha!
Sorry for the late reply.
