Nah, I'm not even beyond the beginning. Summer came and my interest shifted somewhere else. I bought quite a few VNs, but haven't touched any of them for the past 2 months. I predict a change sometime in the future, but for now I have an extended break from anything visual novel related.

So, did you try out that Torture Princess?
Light Novels don't have as much art inside them, so they have more time for making the eye candy look better than others.
I mean, most of the light novels compete with others just by the appeal of the covers on shelves, be them physical or virtual.

Don't worry, as you can see, I've also been quite a busy man in the last few weeks.
I had to check what the hell is nasuverse, and I can't say I was surprised by the results, haha.

From my memories, the ending still quite feel a bit rushed as usual with any Maeda's work but yeah the sequel was a strong emotional one and especially with that scene you mentioned. Quite the rollercoaster.

Nice to hear! Yeah, the 10 is REALLY well deserved and I didn't even need the airing of the final episode to put it on the top of my fav list, it was already there by the episode 8 hahaha. From that episode, I already knew that they won't disappoint us and they indeed deliver in every aspects of a Shoujo. This is absolutely how a Shoujo show should look like and be executed as well. The character development, the build-up of the tension, the romance subplot and the climax of the drama, the show absolutely managed to check all the boxes and stick to the landing which is quite a worth praise considering the number of anime disappointing us with their finals.
Throughout the 3 seasons, Furuba stayed consistent and tied up all its plot threads perfectly and in a SATISFYING manner.
I'm so fucking glad that I had the opportunity to discover this gem with the reboot. Can't believe it's already been 3 years since I started the first season. Honestly, you can compare it with FMAB in term of quality of how the remake was done.
This is truly what a 10/10 show feels.
As you mentioned, Furuba managed to get the first rank on MAL for a Shoujo which is fucking amazing even if it's for a little while. Just making it there is already HUGE. It already went down to the 4th place tho because of haters and bots but damn it gives me such joy seeing many people agreeing on the 10/10.
Hopefully it'll encourage more producers to do complete adaptation for Shoujo because there's a lot with potential like Akatsuki no Yona instead of the usual one season only and then go read the manga.

The show overall was kinda fine: not so bad not so good. Though, mad respect for Yoshida for how he acted and handled the situation throughout the series. He really should be a model for a lot of anime MC's imo.
Overall, the show handled pretty well the drama in a mature way than other drama shows but the character development of Yoshida's love interests were pretty non-existent and the anime also skipped a whole character. Although her apparition doesn't impact that much the shown it still could've given a lot of more insights on how Yoshida was in his teens.
6.5/10 show for me and I don't know if I should continue or not the manga now that the anime adapted the whole LN.

Probably but I've read a lot of negative comments on it so I'm quite torn. It's a long 40 minutes episode but the first half is once AGAIN a recap and the second half absolutely doesn't answer anything and confuse the viewers a lot more lmao. Quite disappointing on how it ended because I really liked the intial premise of the show and the whole cast. A lot of potential wasted unfortunately.

Also, dunno if you still watch Vtubers but have you seen Coco's graduation yesterday? It was so emotional, she truly impacted the whole Vtubers' world and it's quite sad that she decided to quit Hololive but at least it was done on good terms!

'After the Rain' wasn't my cup of tea tbh. I'm not really a fan of romance between high school student and middle-aged adult. I mean, the dude was 45 yo which is quite a large gap and this show wasn't particularly well-executed despite bringing a controversial theme imho...

Oh have you seen the anime? If yes, how does it compare to the VN? I remember watching it in my early days of anime watcher. It was quite a great experience and also very emotional.

Also, I saw that you started Fruits Basket! Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as me. What are your thoughts on the show actually? The first season can be kinda slow with some fillers but I can assure you that if you reach the final season, the build up of the first two seasons will be hella worth it. It's literally how you execute well a drama show and character's development. Really glad it got a high score but it's still truly underwatched...

It's hard to say, but so far my track record was pretty good. A tester usually works under time pressure, if one does have deadlines, so it's mostly a case of how much problems they are going to find. I've been working in my current company for around... Uhmm... Almost 5 years and I survived quite a few employee purges, so I value myself pretty high.
Everything is about experience. Most of newbies are very enthusiastic, because they are hyped about playing games all day. Then you get a reality check and usually after a few months, people either bail out or move to something else. There are also people like me, who have this iron will to continue this and don't give a damn about the nature of QA's work.

Game jams are very enjoyable, especially when you do them with friends that share the same passion as you. It doesn't matter how good or bad it goes. As long as you get some sort of experience or learn something new from it, then you should be happy.

I only played the first 2-3 hours of Unlimited. Currently I'm having a break from VNs, so I may resume it this month.
As for Unlimited... Well, it did a total 180, that's for sure. It looks interesting, but the sudden change isn't something easy to get used to.

Well, not so good after I finished MLA and felt as if I'd been punched in the gut 5 times, then while at the ground kicked in the stomach 3 more and just as a reminder that all of it was worth it also got stabbed in the back. But let's not forget the Altered fable that was funny as hell, but I was paying to much attention on bawling my eyes out that I couldn't really laugh with it, 10/10 definitely recommend it.

Rumour says it's pretty good

Buggy messes are usually a result of limited budgeds and strict timelines. Just like with Cyberpunk. It was buggy, sometimes unplayable, even though the release was postponed many times. I don't even want to know what was the state in the original release window.

There's not such a thing as an official jam. There are just more or less known ones. And yes, there are quite a few jams that don't have theme restrictions, but usually tell you on what engine you should make them.
Adding themes is a good way of gatekeeping. You don't want people to submit ready games, that were made far before the jam even started.

Sure, I won't argue with that, BUT that doesn't mean I particularly liked Chizuru's route.
Catgirl loli route is the best... Now I know everything. (noted)

I see. I can't really comment on the latter parts of the game, because I simply didn't play it. And I played the whole game over 10 years ago, or something like that.

The number of Isekais that we're getting a year is insane compared to other genres.
Yeah, he also directed After the Rain which I wasn't particularly fan of the show but the main girl was the same type lookwise as Komi-san.
Same like you. The first chapters were very good when it was solely focus on Komi's goal which was to make 100 friends with the help of Tadano because of her communication disorder but then it kinda deriviated and became a pure SOL. Though, the latest chapters included some drama and an unnecessary love triangle but it finally had some some enormous progress. On the other hand, we got THIS progress after like 300 chapters which is kinda yikes...

That's nice to hear, hopefully they'll keep it up but I've faith in them. They nailed 8 episodes till now so I don't see any reason why it'll suddenly becomes shit. Also, considering all the praises concerning the LN the best part is yet to come.

Yeah, I don't know the problem behind the production but the show was 'empty' and was lacking this little sparkle in the animation present in other Doga Kobo shows. They had used us to better...

For Higehiro, the anime could've handled some scenes better especially the one you mentioned. The manga did a great job when portraying this scene but I think the anime wanted to point out that Yoshida was still aroused by her body but didn't let himself fall into the tentation and stayed true to his character.
Nagatoro's been really entertaining so far and had some amazing shots! You're probably happy that it got a nice adaptation. Compared to Takagi-san, I enjoy more Nagatoro and her shenanigans with Senpai.

Man, what a huge loss for the manga world, really. He died pretty young and the most depressing thing is that it happened out of nowhere. He didn't have any antecedents and then he suddenly died because of aortic dissection which is hella brutal. I've never read Berserk but this is profoundly sad. RIP legend.

The worst thing is when you find a random bug that happens only in some specific situations. I remember getting headaches whenever I had to search for a problem, that took me even 2 or 3 days.

We shall see. Everything depends on the topic. It's always a hit or a miss for us. Even if you have a solid and experienced team like mine, every topic that's out of our area of interest is most likely going to end with a mediocre result.

That's the thing. She didn't care what happens to her, which is very dumb for her to do. Like her mother said 'Don't let her change into me.'. Guess what? She almost did! A little later and everything would be horrible. Also the whole principal thing was also too much dramatic.
The difference between this and Punpun was that in case of Chizuru, her change was too sudden and too drastic.
Takeru managed to stop her when she was near the entrance to the hotel, so in the last possible moment.
In case of Meiya, they just wanted to give Takumi some more screen time so he could show his mad driving skills.
Only Miki's route was exclusive to her. The other girls had this sort of connected semi-common route, after which it branched.
Yeah. I don't like it when someone tries to make something too much dramatic. In case of Miki there was some problem, there was some drama, but showed in an appropriate tone.

Mio's route. I remember that. It was... something, by the end.

I mean it was funny, but weird and caught me off-guard, but nothing special tbh at least I got to know why mad dog from Extra and that changed a lot to what Mad dog is in Alternative....
So Alternative rly got crazy, I mean Takeru is a goat protag and the story got rly Fed up, i read the Beta attack; He got back to his earth and that happened there as well so I got real sad ngl, dude is strong idk what I would've done in his position. Idk if it is capable of maintaining this level, but if it does props to Age for writting this, cause it good.

Oh yeah, that's usually something that you either have or not. If you're not capable of finding even the smallest errors, then the final product will be a buggy mess. I'm also doing some other stuff at work, but let's say that the 'pure' QA tasks take about 80% of my time.

On a side note, the game that I was working on in that game jam, we ended up it 5th place! That's our best place yet.

I progressed pretty far. I actually finished the whole Extra. I also played a bit of Unlimited, but for the time being, I'm having a break.
As for the individual routes:
- Sumika - the safe route, quite enjoyable but nothing I'd consider original. Also it was pretty short, when it comes to original events, that weren't shared with Meiya.
- Meiya - Throughout the whole game, she had the most development as a character, but the ending was a little bit too wacky for me, with the whole epilogue sequence
- Miki - Quite wholesome route, I liked it. The whole 'facing your own fears' agenda was pretty cute.
- Chizuru - One of those rare cases when I dislike a character more after her route. She decided to go to a love hotel with a stranger just because she was depressed? Didn't like that at all. At least she 'evolved' by the end.
- Kei - I didn't like her from the start and that opinion didn't change after finishing the route. Her was of speaking is annoying and gets worse by the end of the story. Definitely the worst character and story in my book.

If I had to rank them, it would go like this: Sumika>Miki>Meiya>Chizuru>Kei (whereas the last two I didn't like).

The magical stuff in Clannad was actually presented as a dream, so you weren't sure whether that's just some premonition or there's really something supernatural.
You're going to see some hints of supernatural after finishing some of the routes.

Light novels... Hmmm... Probably the continuation of Spice and Wolf and maybe... Magdala de Nemure? The last time I checked, most of the novels were translated, so maybe that. If you don't know that title, it's from the same author as S&W.
Torture Princess? First time hearing that.

I read that the VN was announced last year to be released in English, but at the beginning of march, the main translator (guy who worked on the Muv-Luv trilogy games) parted with the company. So... It will probably take a lot more time, but at some point in the future it'll be finally released.

I'm only going through the main routes Extra: Sumika and Meiya, Unlimited: Meiya; but I ended up doing Yuuko's route on Unlimited cause she's best girl so far and i did Marimo's route in Extra unintentionally cause I don't really play with guides and just do what I usually would do/choose on VNs so 100% them would be kind of a pain for me, like I'd never do Tama's route I just like her cause of the memes
There are some pretty interesting themes showing up lately so I hope it keeps this up.
I read some other ones, but didn't feel sh1t probably I'll be reading the ones that are more acclaimed rn, like MuvLuv, Fata Morgana, Subahibi, etc.
