yup exactly, the mal ratios for sets makes them limited like you have to be mindful of the renders to make sure they don't get pixilated and fit the aspect ratio limits that we're given which limits creativity and makes you work around these limitations. layouts don't have that so suddenly all the options are open now which is kinda what makes it difficult to put together i believe.
a bunch of things like what games i used to be active in, favorite characters, important characters from the series and their info, anime information will probably be there but i don't think it'll be anything prominent. yeah i've seen pat's layout it's really cool! i am still a greenhorn in the layout side of things so i am going with a more traditional design that you'd see in contests. this layout was the big inspiration for the top area's design of the layout:
here's the current progress, will need to fix and figure out a new method for the circle, i was trying to add the markings of a magical circle on them but it's not working because they are too detailed and gets destroyed after shrink:
yeah i get what you mean, there's always that anxiety of people not liking the work or worse saying that the previous one was better which can be devastating lol but usually it's just a unnecessary worry that's in our head. i was worried about my current set too because raidn is often portrayed as this cold badass character and here i am making a set where she's just chilling lol, thankfully it seems to be liked by people which is nice. oh this looks really nice! i love the background but personally i am not sure about half of the render not being visible, i do understand the vision but it looks a bit odd, is it possible to just keep her outline on the white background? maybe that might look interesting or alternatively maybe making her a bit more visible might help
I'm not a professional in any language, but the languages I was learning for the longest time are C++ and Java. I also try to get good at JavaScript, I'll need it for one of my subjects that requires putting together a personal project
yeah i mean simple layout can be pretty cool, people have created beautiful profiles with those. yup sets are pretty restrictive compared to the layouts however i feel like having limitations makes it easier, having full freedom with layouts can be a nightmare since you have to plan out everything. thanks! i did started working on it today, i have no idea what i am doing but hopefully this'll turn into something good:
nice! looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
yeah it's a double edged sword where when it works it's very fulfilling and when it doesn't it's depressing. ah i see, i think the new style looks great! it's aesthetically really nice to look at, personally i would've given the eye a blue glow but this looks pretty good as well. good job!
ah thanks! this was a fun one to make. was looking into the layout today actually, i don't know how i should approach it lol i looked at other layouts but i keep getting decision paralysis to be able to take inspiration from. while i have gotten more comfortable with sets, profiles still seem very difficult to get started with. i've only made 1 layout so far so there's a lot to learn. thanks! i hope so too.
yeah it's really wholesome one! can be too sweet sometimes lol i would recommend it :]
ah that's understandable, these edits can be a time sink and it really hurts when you spend hours on trying to come up with something only to realize it doesn't work or look good, though the feeling of finishing a project after dealing with all that is worth it. i am interested in seeing your older sets if you still have those!
ah i just finished the nero set today, now i'll start working on the new profile layout and another set in the background since it would be nice to focus on something when i inevitably get stuck on the layout. i am currently reading through The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity it's a really wholesome romcom manga. ah i see! yeah this happens sometimes where the initial idea doesn't really look as good as you work on it but if you redo it with a different approach/idea it usually turns out much better!
