10 – The best anime I’ve seen. There is little to nothing wrong with this anime and every aspect of it spoke to me in a way that no other anime has before.

9 – Some of my favorite anime. Something is keeping this anime from being the best, but it’s definitely better than everything else I’ve seen.

8 – Remarkable anime. Something about this anime stood out to me in a way that most haven’t. I was actively enjoying the whole thing.

7 – The general starting point. This anime is good enough to keep my attention and is decent in just about every category.

6 – Fairly decent anime. There are enough good things to keep me watching, but there are also enough bad things to make me not enjoy every minute of it.

5 – Below average anime. I can still pick out one or two good things, but at this point, I’m starting to get bored and losing enjoyment. Also a place for generally decent shorts.

4 – Pretty bad anime. I’ve seen worse and there’s sometimes one good moment in there, but that’s not enough to make this anime good.

3 – The true start of the worst anime. I can usually still stand to watch it, but other than maybe one semi-memorable thing, this is one of the worst things I’ve seen.

2 – The worst anime. I won’t completely forget watching it, but only because this was bad enough to stick in my mind. I can’t think of anything positive about this anime.

1 – Garbage. There is nothing about this anime worth remembering. Something about this show made my heart even blacker.

I don't know about that, the CG seemed very expressive to me, especially on a TV budget. In "Land of the Lustrous", most of the backgrounds are drawn in 2D, while Earwig went for a full 3D experience. It uses this "character stands completely still while talking" trope a lot as well, while characters constantly move around on Earwig. People just think it looks cheap and souless because it doesn't use cel-shading and looks more like moving toys. I feel that it's rather the art style than the animation itself that people don't like. I do agree that they could've done better on the lighting though, everything looks like it's made out of plastic because of how flat it is.

And about the trolling part have you even saw the reviews? Did you see his arguments for some of his shows? While some shows which clearly have alot of flaws he gives those high ratings. While he for example totally murders promised never land on little details while that show is way better executed than some of his higher ratings. But actually you're right. To each their own :)

I only watch animes that have 8 or higher to begin with. So it's not really strange for me to have an average of 8.5 right?? don't jump to conclussions.
