which show was the most popular one, not which CR show is the most popular one.
I thought the relevancy of my point would be obvious, but I'll spell it out:
Given that, there is no reason CR's data is better or worse at showing true trends than is MAL's. CR's data *could* be 100% on the mark. Doubtful, but possible.
On a side note, you actually *can* do this. There *are* statistical procedures that allow you to do this. What you can't do is extrapolate from CR's fanbase to the fanbase of the internet as a whole (which you may be able to do with MAL's, though processing the data first is a necessity).

Bias was probably the wrong word. What's the word I'm looking for here? CR's data is not useful? It's interesting but fairly useless for anything other than this straight ranking.

At least Yumeiro is in it, I am fine with it .

Hmm, well I'd disagree there- CR's doesn't need to be taken with a grain of salt- it just needs to be read in context. They're measuring the relative popularity of certain anime that is streamed to their audiences. MAL's data measures total trends, but self-selects, and therefore needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
In other words, you can say MAL's data is wrong, but you can't say that for CR's data. You can, however, actually use MAL's data for extrapolation, you can't for CR's.

Crap list is crap. The most popular will be most likely Index II.
As for the best that will be Oreimo imo.
Hey look, someone who didn't read what the topic is about! *ogles*
Anyways, only shows I'm watching or planning on watching on that list are Tegami Bachi: Reverse and Shinryaku! Ika Musume. Sucks they're not more popular, they are/look much more interesting than the top 5 shows on that list.
Maybe you should start wondering what I meant with my comment before you start quoting me.
Crunchyrol should license other series, since there are way more interesting anime airing right now. I have a hard time imagining that these 10 anime are the most watched.
You're right, they probably aren't the most watched. The thing is, he's only listing the shows CR is streaming. They aren't the most watched anime of the season period, it's the ranking of the 10 shows they HAVE.
what he said.

MAL self-selects onto people who use MAL- it doesn't matter if MAL is bigger or has a more diverse list to choose from- there is still an inherent bias. Not to mention that MAL relies on self-reported data, while CR's list is based on actual observations.
There are two outliers in this ranking, imao: P&S and SRW. Quirky or different shows have never done well on CR and they don't have any other mecha show so I'm assuming SRW can be explained with that. IDK, I have no explanations really, they're just outliers; should be higher and lower respectively. I suppose the world-wide license for SRW is also a factor here but they still only have English subs so...
My point was that, afaik, MAL's ranking is the best (complete) ranking you can find. Hence, the phrase "semi-accurate". I wasn't trying to start an argument, just saying that I take this ranking of theirs with a huge grain of salt while MAL's should be taken with a smaller one. Anyhoo...
If anybody's interested, here's MAL's ranking for today: 13 October 2010. It's only counting the number of people who have these shows set to watching but it should still be fairly useful.

it's too early to make this rank with only 2 episode of each serie

If you want a semi-accurate ranking of what people are watching, check MAL's watching numbers. CR's numbers are severely biased but it's still interesting to see which shows people over there are watching.
Actually, that doesn't remove bias- Crunchyroll self-selects based on who's watching the anime on their site (the bias being both their site and their selection of anime). MAL self-selects onto people who use MAL- it doesn't matter if MAL is bigger or has a more diverse list to choose from- there is still an inherent bias. Not to mention that MAL relies on self-reported data, while CR's list is based on actual observations.
But enough of that-> SRW FTW.

Yes, of course. But this might give a wrong view of the most popular airing anime. Thus I posted what "most likely" would be the most popular anime. No reason to quote me for that and assuming I didn't read the topic.
