LOL overhyped it may be, but you can't say shit to the amount of DVDs and BluRay sold.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-06-29/angel-beats-no.1-sells-23000-to-top-weekly-bd-chart

If this report is correct, 23,000 copies of Angel Beats! were sold on Blu-Ray. That's just under 35,000 copies total once we add both the DVD and BD numbers.

It depends on the show. Most of the heavy-hitters (K-ON!, Bakemonogatari, Railgun, Darker than Black 2, etc.) sell much better on BD. Interestingly, many bottom feeding titles also do better on Blu-Ray, presumably because only the most hardcore anime collectors (who favor the best version) actually buy them.

Middle-tier titles still sell better on DVD, although the gap is closing.

Yay,Durarara the first!! :D

I still don't understand why long anime series don't sell as much as short ones . . Can someone explain .

because extreme fatties are the main buyers of anime dvds and have a retarded "it's popular, now it sucks" mentality unless it has horrible emo characters and mindfuck disguised as philosophy.

what, too accurate?

^ I thought it will sell up to 15,000.

those were just fake rumours which were created by AnGEL BEATAHOLICS . . Well . . Can anyone please help me wit my doubt .

Sigh again... I don't know where you live, but the most popular data medium in Japan is BD. Angel Beats has BD release too, not just the unpopular DVD one. That means Angel Beats' BD sales are much bigger than the DVD ones. And well, the first BD of Angel Beats sold over 15.000 on the first day, so imagine how much it could sell in the whole week.

Awesome that Durarara is 1th and good to see Hetalia and Angel Beats not far away.

But wow... Hakuouki left me speechless.

I knew that the game sold a lot, but never expected that this shitty adaptation would sell that much. Fangirls.

Of course, waiting for BD sales. Thanks, dtshyk.

Sigh.. Hakuouki was only released on DVD, while AB was released on BD too. I can guranatee that the AB BD sells will be much higher than the Hakuouki DVD sells.

Same with Oofuri. If there is a BD of a show, it's given that it will sell better then the DVD counterparts.
