Manga 'Ao no Hako' Gets TV Anime
The official X (formerly Twitter) of Kouji Miura's Ao no Hako (Blue Box) manga announced on Monday a television anime adaptation, revealing the main cast and a teaser visual (pictured above).
Shouya Chiba (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e) and Reina Ueda (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) are starring as Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano, respectively.
Miura originally began drawing the sports romance manga as a one-shot in Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in August 2020. The manga began serializing in the same magazine the following April. Shueisha published the 12th volume on October 4, and the 13th volume is scheduled to be released on December 4. The manga has a cumulative 2.7 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English in April 2021. The seventh volume went on sale on November 7. Shueisha is also publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus website and app.
Synopsis
Taiki Inomata, a third-year student in junior high, attends Eimei Academy, an integrated school with a major sports program. Having joined the high school badminton team, Taiki tries to attend open practice as early as possible. But no matter how early he goes, he always arrives second in the gymnasium. The person one step ahead of him is Chinatsu Kano, a first-year student in senior high and Taiki's crush.
Chinatsu is the rising star of the basketball team, and the gap between her and Taiki could not be greater. Although Taiki is a decent badminton player, his popularity is nowhere near Chinatsu's, making it even less likely for his feelings to be reciprocated. However, in a strange twist of fate, she ends up living in Taiki's house!
Wanting to become a worthy match for Chinatsu, Taiki pursues the same dream as his crush: to partake in the Nationals. Taiki starts training harder than ever before, all for the sake of building a strong relationship with his new housemate. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

But i have to say, i didn't drop this manga because i already reach too far. I liked the very beginning and some stuff from 10 chapters+ ago.
I hope the anime improves the manga, because it is a slow romance, that add a love triangle and later add more drama and new girls for the sake to make the story unnecessary longer. Not even going comment the current chapters, because i have no idea where the author wants to lead the story now.

It turns out that Oshi no Ko was also published in Young Jump. Probably for some reason I mixed up the names with Jump+. But anyway, thanks for the clarification. I've read Jugokuraku on Manga Plus from time to time, but haven't gotten around to the anime yet.
