@Yubisoft Hah, compared to G-Witch, where the authors literally threw almost all the themes of the show into the trash for the sake of focusing on yuri bait, and then “broke” even that when they couldn’t decide what would be safer for them, Licorice An almost perfect show about women bromance. But okay, I don't want to reopen my old wounds. Well, I've been watching anime for years, a show like this wouldn't surprise me. But since this is the anniversary project of a cult studio, I hope that it will be something more than some kind of waifu or yuri baiting. I've been poking around their official website and the trailers that have been released so far, and it looks like at least one of the girls is a cyborg and something like a Rei-clone.

@RobertBobert To me it felt like with Lycoris Recoil they focused way too much on the two girls and their interactions and all the other aspects of the anime such as writing , world building even how the villains behaved were all over the place . Nothing wrong with yuri or yuri bait as long as long as they don't focus on it way too much which is how I felt they did with Lycoris and it is why I dropped the anime . Hopefully you are right about this new anime from bones .

When shippers try to justify their interest in the show by claiming that most people only watched it for the ships, I wonder if they realize that by doing so they are diminishing the overall value of the show and the audience's engagement with it?

@Yubisoft

i wasn't implying that the score determined whether or not i was hype or how much i'll like it, now i realize it kinda came off that way... i dont' care for high scores at all, i just threw that in there to see if im right

there is no such thing as "pointless" yuri-bait, most of my favorite anime are yuri-bait

Chisato and Takina were all anyone cared about (they were the only reason i kept watching), so w/o that aspect that show wouldnt have been so big

@Yubisoft Given the time period, the studio, and what I've seen so far, it will most likely be an action version of Carole and Tuesday that will try to combine the current trend of female buddies anime with what you would normally expect from Bones. But I wouldn't say that Licorice was INTENTIONALLY relying on yuri bait. Although they clearly knew that many people would be attracted by the expectation of this.

@EcchiGodMamster Nowadays the people rate anime good or bad just for the studio selection . So judging from the fact that this is made from Bones , the anime will get at least a 7.30 by the time it finishes (if not more) regardless if it good or not . Hopefully it won't rely on some possible yuri bait like what Lycoris Recoil did and has an actual good story and writing.

@Fluffygreygrass A pair of female protagonists doesn't make a show yuri by default. But I’m more than sure that one way or another this will already have a fandom of a bunch of shippers with all the related things.
