Light Novel 'Yuusha-kei ni Shosu: Choubatsu Yuusha 9004-tai Keimu Kiroku' Gets Anime
The Dengeki Bunko 30th Summer Festival Online 2023 event announced an anime adaptation of Shoukai Rocket's Yuusha-kei ni Shosu: Choubatsu Yuusha 9004-tai Keimu Kiroku (Sentenced to Brave Punishment) on Sunday.
Rocket originally began penning the adventure fantasy on the Kakuyomu website in October 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the title under its Dengeki Bunko label with illustrations by Mephisto in September 2021 and released the fourth volume last December. The fifth volume is scheduled for an August 17 release.Natsumi Inoue began serializing a manga adaptation in Dengeki Comic Regulus in March 2022. Kadokawa published the first volume in December 2022.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English this February and plans to publish the first volume on August 22.
Yuusha-kei placed third in the tankobon category in the 2023 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings.
Synopsis
Heroism—a punishment for only the worst criminals. Those sentenced to the fate of a hero are forced to fight at the front lines against the demon king's army—and if they die, all they can expect is to be revived and continue the battle. Immediately lost interest due to the loli on the cover of the first volume. Would have bought and read it if it was a more mature girl. Such a shame. Guess I'll peek at the anime a bit instead.
