Are you talking about that spin-off of the show, which turned out to be pretty good despite the constant confusion with ReZero? I wanted to watch it a few times, but I'm still not in the mood. Also, are you talking about Strike the Blood? I haven't watched this show, is it also about a magic academy?

strike the blood was turend into an OVA series in japan because it had a ton of nudity i think their were other reasons as well. it's a magic school/ city series revoling around a boy who gets vampire lord powers takes place in modern times.

date alive had another season after the spin off series https://myanimelist.net/anime/41461/Date_A_Live_IV
loooks like it's not it's final season though another one was announced it looks like.

the other one was this one https://myanimelist.net/anime/48842/Mahoutsukai_Reimeiki?q=Mahoutsukai%20Reimeiki%20&cat=anime

Yes, it looks like it. Okay thanks. I have all these shows in my plans, so I'll keep that in mind when I get to them.

Can you give their names? I'm building a stack based on this subgenre. Other than Vermeil, it's a manga.

Are the action magic academies LN still alive? I thought that this genre gradually died out amid the popularity of isekai as a new mainstream genre of male fantasy LN.

and isekai have pretty much replaced them for the past couple of years, we used to have hundreds of mahouka every season

I hang out in the LN community~

Isekai has started to go down. Romcoms will be the new trend.
Romcoms have outnumbered the number of isekais.

Well, there are a ton of non-isekai fantasy LNs.

Oh, Mahouka LN is still going strong in Japan for some reason.

LN rom-coms have always been a hit, except for the last couple of years they rarely got adaptations as the studios preferred the manga. As for Mahouka, I think it's still a classic OP MC + good level of intrigue, so that's understandable.

Despire rather cliche genre, trailer is intriguing. And Junya Enoki as the main character. I will watch it.
