When are studio's going to learn you better off not releasing a anime when its CGI like this. Just feels like they are trying to get easy money from a classic at this point. But we shall wait and see. Yes there is good CGI, but you need to go all out on it to make it good. This is going to fail hard(rating at least) if final product looks like this, just being a realist. I love the original and for me its not about nostalgia because i only watched it recently.

I'll put up with all the stupid redesigns as long as we get Tsuneo Imahori back for the OST and Johnny Yong Bosch for Vash. After seeing the trailer I lost a lot of hope for that though. I'm a little shocked they aren't trying to cater to the American millennials with this remake since they're kinda the sole reason the series didn't tank in the first place. I mean they made the movie for us for that reason after all, and they got Tsuneo and Jonny back for that one so like GIVE ME WHAT I WANT I'VE WAITED ALMOST 20 YEARS DAMMIT.

if teaser CGI is so ugly, I can't imagine how awful final product will be.

The CGI looks good, but admittedly, the new design may take getting used to. But maybe that'll only be his look for the first few episodes.

LMAOOO it looks so garbage

Not what I expected.

I think I will have a chance to see the older version before the remake airs for a limited time, so I hope I can see that one.

calling it now this might be a retelling of the story but it can serve as a prequel too so by the end of this show Vash hair will go spiky again like powering up to Super Saiyan

The zoomer haircut is funny but it will appeal to the people that say LIT and KINO.

It looks really good. I love the colours and camera movement in the cgi.

Aaand it looks like utter shite, to no one's surprise. They even had the gall to change his design, one of the most iconic in anime history. And then there's the new voice. As much as I love Matsuoka, he doesn't fit Vash one bit. The old VA is still active but they couldn't be bothered to recast him.
Heck, now that I'm taking another look at the character designs, Vash and Knives look like fuccbois with emo haircuts instead of cool gunslingers!

I agree especially the VA part. I love the original VA, suitable with Vash.
Vash new looks too generic and forgettable. With the original design, we can know it is Vash just by his silhouette.

boy what the hell boy

Morally reprehensible haircuts

CGI looks decent BUT they massacred Vash, he looks like a k-pop star. Hate when companies try to appeal to newer audiences, neglecting the old fans that made the show successful in the first place, just to "keep up with the times", lmao what a BS excuse. My hopes for this are in the gutter, "an all new retelling of Vash's story" doesn't inspire and motivate me to give this nostalgia money-grab a chance. Amazing when a teaser of a product tell's you how bad it will be before coming out, saves you time you can't get back lol... Trigun's OG anime and manga will always be superior to this new retelling. What a disgrace, it's sad Japan has become a shell of their former self at making anime. This stuff right here certifies why anime is another dying art.

While I don't hate the redesign, I don't think it's very Vash. I'll hold judgement until I see it though. Honestly probably woulda liked it if they used the design for an original new property instead of Trigun.

The CGI is janky af tho... super disappointing. Maybe it will look better when it comes out.

here is the Anime Expo Panel inteviews

While they can’t reveal too much about the story yet, TRIGUN STAMPEDE will be considered an all-new retelling of Vash’s story, focusing more heavily on his relationship with Knives and Rem. The PV was all action and explosions and SAND WORMS.

The director has personal history working at Madhouse and even consulted deeply with the OG TV anime director Nishimura for production (“to surpass him” lol).

For character animation and expression, they took inspiration from Disney’s Tarzan, which is extremely exciting to me.

Nightow closed the panel by asking us to remember TRIGUN fans who couldn’t be here as a result of these past 2 years, and he hopes they will enjoy their 5 years of hard work (!!!) on STAMPEDE in heaven. You can tell even by the short PV that this has been in the works forever.

Never once did I doubt that BASED Orange would deliver on the visuals for this...I am very pleased

My only question now is whether or not this is a complete remake or a continuation of the original series

The OG Vash Character Design has been my all time favorite since I began watching anime so it's hard not to feel bummed out by seeing the new design. Otherwise the trailer was interesting, the trailer had a serious tone to it.

EDIT: I feel better about the new design, it seems the Stampede is going to start at an earlier point than the OG anime. Maybe there's a chance we get the old design eventually seeing as the first promo visual had the old design in it.

Look how they massacred my boy!

Jul 3, 2022 5:45 AM by wildhood

This is a combination of the CGI looking really good in a bubble but the art style itself looking really unappealing

Jul 3, 2022 4:34 AM by JizzyHitler

It really looks horrible. Better read the manga and watch Madhouse series.
