'Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story' Gets Second Season in Winter 2023

The 13th and final episode of Birdie Wing: Golf Girls' Story announced on Wednesday that it is receiving a second season. The official website also revealed a teaser visual (pictured) and teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2023.

Bandai Namco Pictures produced the first season, which aired in Spring 2022. Crunchyroll simulcast the first season with subtitles as it aired in Japan.

Synopsis
Infamous among those who gamble on golf games, Eve uses her exceptional skill in the sport to earn a living—by betting and winning against various opponents. Known as the "Rainbow Bullet," she vows to beat her foes and conquer the world of underground golf using only three clubs. However, the universe where Eve knows no defeat is shaken after she plays a clean game with Aoi Amawashi, a golfing prodigy that came to the country of Nafrece to enter a golf tournament. Armed with talent and born into the perfect environment for golf, Aoi the "Innocent Tyrant" calmly crushes her enemies with a bright smile on her face.

After their game-changing match, Eve and Aoi become intrigued with each other and promise to battle again someday. As Eve's aggressive and risk-taking approach challenges the elite and steady playstyle of Aoi, the two geniuses may just manage to bring golf to unexpected heights. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The anime is promoting others products and has some sort of audience engagement for a random reason, they will release a Nintendo Switch game during the later half of 2022 and it is backed by a Metaverse company. I suppose that they did a random VR section in the anime that didn't add anything to the plot because of that project

If you close your eyes to the western part of the community, then all I saw was an all-female quasi-shonen show with a certain dose of Kyoani's level gay jokes and fanservice. I can see how this will attract a certain audience, but it's hard for me to imagine this being such a big deal in 2022.

Second season and we have to wait for another 6 months. Season 2 looks like it's going to be darker and serious with some drama on it.

A season 2 is pretty obvious since you can't really wrap up the story with the tournament just starting now.

Pretty obvious it would have a second season, since there was no way the series would end in the 13th episode. Still glad it has been confirmed.

i find joy in the mundane. Plus i think ive had enough of the shouting golf moves and overexaggerated topspins comparable to a 2000s battle shounen lol
