Light Novel 'Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu' Gets TV Anime in January 2023

The editorial department of Kodansha's Lanove Bunko announced a television anime adaptation of Nana Mikoshiba's Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu: Sekai Saikyou no Majutsushi de Aru Shounen wa, Majutsu Gakuin ni Nyuugaku suru (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) light novel on Thursday. The anime series is scheduled for a January 2023 broadcast.

Mikoshiba began writing the action fantasy light novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2019. Kodansha began publishing the series under its Lanove Bunko imprint the following July, featuring illustrations by Riko Korie (Juuou Mujin no Fafnir). The fifth volume shipped on Thursday also included the anime announcement on its wraparound band (pictured).

Norihito Sasaki began drawing a manga adaptation on the Magazine Pocket platform in June 2020. Kodansha published the seventh volume on January 7, with the eighth volume scheduled for a May 9 release.

Kodansha US licensed the manga adaptation in English in October 2021 for digital release and published the second volume last December.

Synopsis
Everyone knows of the most powerful soldier, the Iceblade Magician, who led the country to victory three years ago, but few know his true name: Ray White. After weathering through a bloody war, Ray enrolls at Arnold Academy, ready to experience a normal life—a luxury he never had. To further this goal, he keeps his identity as the Iceblade Magician a secret, the scars of the past still haunting him to this very day.

Despite being ostracized for being a commoner, Ray befriends the prideful yet kind Amelia Rose, the muscle-brained Evy Armstrong, and the shy and bookish Elisa. However, conspiracy is lurking in the academy walls, and Ray is tasked with hunting down a spy whose motives remain unclear. According to synopsis, it sound like a rip-off from Greatest MagicMaster Retirement Plan. In Greatest Magicmaster Retirement Plan, it is the side characters that keep me entertained. Not sure about this, I have not heard of this LN even though I followed the LN community closely.

since it was a really long LN title i meant this to be a joke but i actually do wish the title told more LMAO

I have looked into the the LN community.
It has not entered anyone's radar, probably this LN it too new~
For the manga side, based on their description, it is clearly a Greatest Magicmaster Retirement Plan rip-off. The strongest magician trying to retire from the frontlines and trying to enjoy a peaceful student life.

I have read both LNs by the way.
I remembered in the second link. There was a thread that I have to explain the cliche title to clear a misconception of the plot. XD

It's Iceblade Sorcerer in the title, but Iceblade Magician in the synopsis.

That is quite literally the single most basic error one can make in creating a piece of fiction, and speaks volumes about how lazy of a production this is.

It's beyond hopeless at this point.

Been reading this manga since 2 years back. Not something I would personally choose to adapt tbqh. It's not bad, but I wont say its amazing either.
