Source on Eva inspiring Muv Luv? I know the Gunparade March game inspired it a good bit, but never heard of Eva inspiring it.

I don't think Kouki talks about his inspirations that much
But a lot of the aspects of muvluv are similar to Blue gender and NGE, and even stuff like groundhog day and War of the worlds. Although don't quote me on this, this is second hand info. I have yet to watch most of these.

Yeah ok fair. Definitely you should check out Gunparade March if you want to see something that for sure inspired Muv Luv.

This was a bad trailer
the first announcement trailer was legit hype, this one and the previous one they released were bad. This isn't going to be a good adaptation probably

Not a huge fan of the original VNs tho, PTSD was eh meh bleh.

I'm just laughing at how much in contrast it is on both sides of its release. Its sandwiched b/w Evangelion 3.0+1.0, the finale of the series that inspired muvluv, and Attack on titan season 4 part 2, the finale of the series that was inspired by muvluv. Two of the biggest franchises ever and their final entries being some of the most anticipated and critically acclaimed.

I heard lots about this. It's one of the highest rated VN. I wonder how this inspired AOT as some people claim it to be.

I don't recommend watching the anime, since it will most probably start in the middle of the entire story. Although I wouldn't exactly recommend even the VNs for multiple reasons. If you wanna experience the story, the VNs are the best way to go.

Muv-Luv is one of those VN adaptations that to hit its intended target would take a lot of careful planning.

From the looks of all this, even I can tell that the character design is superbly generic, none of the VN-like experience.

All I can do now is fingers crossed...

Sheet going by these comments, I might have to return to VNs, but no time!

Bad CG, meh character designs (somehow they look worse than ones from Akane Maniax ova), overall it's meh.
However, I expected nothing and I got nothing, what else can I say.

Why don't give this adaptation to a staff that made Schwarzesmarken anime?
At least they knew how to create the horror atmosphere and make mecha fights.

Somehow this adaptation looks even worse and more generic from this trailer and key visual than it ever did before. My expectations were through the floor with this already but now I genuinely expect nothing. The staff is dreadful, the studios are dreadful and they've completely misunderstood the source material. A potential anime of the year candidate thrown under the bus by the industry again.

Unfortunately this is what we have to accept and it's already a miracle that a VN from 2006 even managed to get an anime adaptation in 2021. The budget is also probably really low, so the best we can hope for is a decent number of episodes

Aug 25, 2021 6:01 AM by Fax001s

Sadly, after the horrible and full of fan-service manga, the anime also won't do any justice to the source....

Aug 25, 2021 5:45 AM by WanderingRonin

I have the lowest expectations possible for all VN adaptations so who knows maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised lol

Looks decent I guess. Haven’t played any of the novels. If it wasn’t for the title, I wouldn’t have even bothered watching the first episode.

oh its not full 3DCG huh but looks great so far Graphinica always is great with 3DCG

lets see how this story inspired Attack on Titan

Keep your expectations very low, since this will adapt only a part of the story and it won't have nearly the same impact even if the adaptation turns out good (which i doubt it will but i'll wait for the actual episodes before judging)

i will lower my expectations although i heard that some few episodes of flashbacks or backstories of the prequels can be done

Aug 25, 2021 4:09 AM by deg

This is going to be amazing I'm do excited it looks so good!!

Aug 25, 2021 4:03 AM by Sphealz

beta look decent, I expected worse, the character design is a bit different than the VN which is a given but I feel that they could've made them look better, meiya doesn't look appealing but at least kei looks ok, her tits are bigger in the VN though.

Aug 25, 2021 4:01 AM by Catalano

I dunno if I'll actually watch this one since it's a later part of the story and without knowing the whole thing it won't be just as fun.

Oh boy, this going to flop so hard, PV is already a big red flag, character designs could be better and OP isn't done by Jam Project. Well at least cgi looks decent.... i guess.
