'Taishou Otome Otogibanashi' Reveals Additional Cast, Staff, First Promo

The Taishou Otome Otogibanashi (Taishou Maiden Fairytale) stage at AnimeJapan 2021's Pony Canyon booth announced on Sunday additional cast, staff, the first promotional video, and new key visual (pictured). The television anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2021.

Jun Hatori (Kamiwaza Wanda assistant director) is directing the anime at animation studio SynergySP. Hiroko Fukuda (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2) is penning the script, and Mayumi Watanabe (Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou chief animation director) is the character design.

Sana Kirioka serialized the historical romance manga in Jump SQ. from July 2015 to October 2017 after publishing the manga as a one-shot in Jump SQ.19. Shueisha published all five volumes between February 2016 and october 2017.

Kirioka launched a sequel manga in Shounen Jump+August 2018, and ended on May 12.

Well, I'm interested in checking this out, as this the first anime by SynergySP after being acquired by Shin-Ei Animation. They kinda disappeared after being bought by Shin-Ei Animation in 2017, and mainly just became a subcontractor for anime produced by either Shin-Ei or OLM.

Staff is a bit questionable, and SynergySP is a name I haven't heard in like forever. Their last work was them assisting in The 8th Son, but Shin-Ei was the main studio behind that. But the PV looks alright. Hoping for the best!

There's not enough content for it to be a full two-cour series. At the same time, some chapters will need to be cut out if they wanna fit this into 12-13 episodes. Considering the studio, I'm not expecting anything more than a cour. Hopefully they're smart about which chapters to not adapt.

Haw many episodes does it need for complete adaptation?

Hmm... i think it needs more than 1 cour but less than 2 cour for a complete adaptation (btw 16-18 ep)

i really hope for a complete adaptation without skipping anything
