The Jump Studio stage for Sana Kirioka's Taishou Otome Otogibanashi (Taisho Maiden Fairytale) manga announced a television anime adaptation on Sunday. Pony Canyon also opened an official website, revealing the staff, lead cast, and a key visual (pictured).

Synopsis
Tamahiko Shima is the youngest son of the powerful and wealthy Shima family. Blessed with great fortune since his childhood, he grew up wanting nothing but affection from his oftentimes distant family.

After losing his mother and crippling his dominant arm in an accident, Tamahiko fell into deep despair and is cast aside by his own father for his handicap. Condemned to live isolated in the countryside where he would not bring shame to his family's name, he resigned himself to dying alone—until one day, a young girl named Yuzuki Tachibana appeared on his doorstep, proclaiming that Tamahiko's father sent her to be his bride.

As she takes care of Tamahiko, Yuzuki brings a feeling of springtime into Tamahiko's dreary life, allowing him to gradually heal from the deep emotional scars of his youth. Their lives slowly intertwine as both Tamahiko and Yuzuki taste the fruits of their first love. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Script: Hiroko Fukuda (Hayate no Gotoku!, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2)

A historical romance SOL that is rated decently well. Going to add this to my PTW. PV image looks great the old Japan transitioning into the new is contrasted well in it.

well ... i'll recommend Taishou Otome Otogibanash to anyone who wants :
-> a pure love story without any love triangle/harem/misunderstandings
-> adorable main couple
-> a lot of heartwarming romantic moments btw the main couple
-> satisfying relationship development and ending

basically anyone who enjoy sweet vanilla romance will love this

YESSSS YESSS !!!!!!!!!!.... Definitely !!!

Man... i still don't believe it get adapted.. after 3 years...
I'm really happy OMG haha.. Really excited to see adorable & lovely life of TamahikoYuzu and friends XD.

can't wait for Fall next year :3

A solid 7/10 which I remember very fondly for the first half but my love for it all diminished with the somewhat dull second half of plots, new characters and last arc when it slowly moved away from the sole focus of the main character's relationship of which I cared for the most in this story.

Regardless,
Glad to see a good finished romance finally being adapted over the many mediocre or immature unfinished stories.

I'm curious to hear what Kotori's singing/songs will sound like.

Finally a shoujo thank the heavens.

It's not a shoujo. It's a shounen.

I did a little research and yeah, the key visual brought that idea.

nah from what I remember this was more of the healing a tragic past/insecurities through love type of story rather than married couple being lovey dovey type of one

Oh, right. Well, both sounds nice!

though I'm honestly surprised a series like this is actually getting an adaptation in the first place, given how it's not the usual super popular/overly generic harem. Maybe this spells hope for future shoujo/josei romance adaptations :P

Yes, please!

A manga that ended 3 years ago is finally getting an anime. And it happens to be a manga that I've already read the first 10 chapters of. And SynergySP are doing this? The same studio that did Hayate no Gotoku Season 1, MAR, and Zettai Karen Children during the 2000s decade? That's unexpected.
